What was it 9,10 sacks. That's never going to get it done. Its not on Williams. Its 1st yr starters Gaynor, Campbell, Nelson along with Scaife who played 5 games last yr
Normally I would say coverage in the secondary & pressure from the front 7 equate to sacks, QB hurries. To say our OL faced baptism under fire is an understatement. Zion Nelson got beat several times while still in his stance.
Our defense will only be as good as what our OL is capable of. We have 3 new starters in the secondary, little depth at LB & DL, Unlike the gators who continually rotated guys on their DL. Our 1st yr guys are a work in progress.
Overall, I think Williams did OK. The one question from me is why wasn't Williams allowed to roll out more due to constant pressure from the UF front 7.
