Joining ACC Radio on Sirius XM, Van Dyke said he and others try to not to pay attention to the coaching rumors but that he wants Diaz back.
“I try not to pay attention to it,” Van Dyke said. “But I mean, if you look at it like this, we've had so many injuries on both sides of the ball, season ending injuries, for coach just to get a young team motivated after a 2-4 start and end up 7-5, I think that's what a great head coach does. We've talked a lot about going into next season. I would say next year is the year and I totally agree with him and all the coaches on that. We feel really good about it.”
Van Dyke was then asked if he would like to see Diaz return as head coach.
“Yeah, 100%,” he said.
