Why aren’t you mad is a better question I believe. But cool story that it’s only 10miles from your place. My moms family grew up down in Camarillo on the 60s. Grandad was lifelong Navy WWII vet.
I also grew up in a Navy town, Alameda, CA in the SF Bay Area. Many of my childhood friends had dads who were Navy fliers during WWII. I just recently found out that the father of one of those friends was a hero of the famed “Marianas Turkey Shoot.” Shot down 6 Japanese Zeros in 7 minutes. A record at the time. He recently died well into his 90’s.
I drive by The French Laundry twice weekly. Modest building that truly was a laundry in the late 19th century. Small and intimate spaces. Its’ spectacular vegetable garden is right across the street from the restaurant where they grow much of the produce for the menu. It’s open to pedestrians to marvel at the quality of produce as well as the incredible chickens who produce all the eggs used for the menus.
I’ve eaten there once. It was delicious, no doubt. But, 10 mini courses from a set menu served over 2+ hours was a bit too “reverential” for me to repeat. Each course is precise and meticulous. Perfect service. Yet, the whole experience was too precious for me.
The chef/owner of The French Laundry has 4 additional restaurants in the same Napa Valley town. Much more casual. Delicious and fun. He also has restaurants in NYC and Las Vegas as well as the cuisine served on the Seabourn Cruise Line. Great stuff and way more casual and welcoming.

ROLMAO!!! I just can't stop laughing at this man!!! It's really really gotten bad. I can't take anyone seriously with hair dye running down their face for one. Secondly, hair dye aside he has no compelling argument to anyone other than a sitting moron. It has gotten pretty bad. I can't imagine it could get worse.
