BIG as in Big 10.

Back in February it was reported that former SR WR Garrett Kidd left the Canes football program because he was "retiring" from the sport.

Well, not so fast, my friend.

I just saw a report elsewhere that says Kidd announced via Twitter he will on scholarship for the Northwestern Wildcats this fall: "Extremely grateful and blessed to be accepting a scholarship to play at Northwestern University next season!"

As a grad student he can transfer to any other FBS school and have immediate eligibility.

However, while Kidd says he's been offered a full ride he has yet to have his name added to their official roster and NU hasn't made an announcement...yet. Even if he ends up in Evanston, he's going to have a lot of company. They have 21 players listed at WR.

Anyway, if Kidd ends up at NU he will be at a school that has a number of similarities to the U. It too is a small private school, enrollment is less than 10K, tuition is $47K annually and their teacher/student ratio is 7:1 (I think the U is 12:1). I have driven past the campus. It is impressive and it is just up the road from Chicago on Lake Michigan. Fortunately, I saw it in the spring.
