In this last draft 40 5-star prospects were eligible of which 16 (40%) of them didn't get drafted. Does this mean that all of the undrafted were undeveloped by their respctive programs? Absolutely not. The reality is that high school success doesn't necessarily translate into a prospect becoming a first round selection.
Chick was a five star kid coming out of high school and a four-year starter at the U. He had a plethora of opportunities to excel but, unfortunately, this is a common case of a kid that hit his college ceiling by his freshman year and didn't develop beyond that. Maybe he will now be the exceptional case of a sixth rounder having a long and distinguished career in the NFL. I certainly hope so.
I will always be grateful for anyone that dons the orange and green but I find it classless that his crew has decided to play the blame game and brought negative news to the program.
