Brad Kaaya nonetheless completed 12 of 19 passes for 141 yards - a 71-yard chunk going to tailback Joe Yearby on a screen play.

Rosier completed 5 of 10 passes for 151 yards and the scoring strikes to Lewis of 26 and 45 yards on his final two passes.

Vincent Testaverde, took part in two series, throwing two incompletions.

Sophomore receiver Braxton Berrios had a 56-yard screen play he managed by gracefully zig-zagging around defenders. The next was a rugged catch for 20 yards in heavy traffic. H

In the running game, first-team tailback Gus Edwards had 16 carries for 85 yards. Yearby had a good day, with seven carries for 34 yards, including a 16-yard touchdown. He also had the 71-yard pass play from Kaaya, with the defense unable to outrun him.

Defensively, the Canes registered four sacks, courtesy of tackle Anthony Moten, defensive end Trent Harris, safety Deon Bush and middle linebacker Juwon Young. There were eight tackles for loss, with linebacker Darrion Owens making a team-high seven tackles.

The only turnover was a fumble by tight end Stan Dobard.

On special teams, kicker Mike Badgely kicked a 42-yard field-goal attempt just short, but on the mark. He was given another chance and kicked it wide right.
