Donald Trump Celebrates Saved Carrier Jobs While Nearby Company Plans Mexico Move...
The Company will get 7 million in Tax breaks over the next ten years in exchange they keep 800 manufacturing jobs and 300 white collar jobs that were never scheduled to move. The carrier and its parent company still planning on moving 1,300 jobs to Mexico, half from the same plant the other half from another location in Huntington Indiana.
In Indianapolis today, President-elect Donald Trump will tout his deal to stop nearly a thousand Carrier jobs from moving to Mexico. But at a ball bearing plant just a mile away, hundreds of Hoosiers may soon lose their jobs.
In October, the Rexnord Corp. announced it "tentatively decided" to move its Indianapolis operation to another one of its facilities, in Mexico.
Closing the plant would cost 350 workers their jobs, the union representing employees there told ABC News. The move is anticipated to happen sometime in the spring next year.

Trump boasted about his deal to keep about 1,100 Carrier jobs in Indiana, and also took aim at other companies who may be thinking about moving jobs out of the country.
"Companies are not going to leave the United States anymore without consequences. Not going to happen. It's not going to happen, I'll tell you right now," Trump said on Thursday.
Pethokoukis, a scholar with the conservative-leaning American Enterprise Institute, called it the worst economic speech since Democratic presidential nominee Walter Mondale promised to reverse Reaganomics in 1984.
