Final Update:
The Canes finally put it all together...pitching, fielding and especially hitting with men on base to whip Georgia Tech 13-2 to salvage at least 1 game of the 3-game series. Kudos to Alejandro Rosario who had his best day of the season. At the plate, Yoyo Morales went 4-5 with 1 RBI while four other Canes slugged HRs.
Final Line Score:
PITCHING
Rosario: WP (2-2) IP: 5.0, H 7, R 1, ER 1, BB 1, K 6. AJ's best game of the year! Encouraging to see.
Gates: IP: 0.1, H 0, R 0, ER 0, BB 0, K 0
McFarlane: IP: 1.1, H 1, R 1, ER 1, BB 1, K 2
Ziehl: IP: 1.1, H 1, R 0, ER 0, BB 0, K 2
Walters: IP: 1.0, H 1, R 0, ER 0, BB 0, K 2
BATTING (Lots of heroes today, 4 blast HRs and all but 4 who played hit...Pitelli had a tough day, 0-5)
Morales: 4-5, 2B (2), 1 RBI
Romero: 2-5, HR, 3 RBI (3 HRs for Maxwell in Games 2 & 3)

DEFENSE

STAT OF THE GAME
We got more hits today (16), than we did in Game 1 (9) and Game 2 (6) combined.
RECORDS
Miami improves to 32-12 and 17-7/ACC while GT drops to 27-18 and 12-12/ACC. We still have the most wins overall (32) and in conference (17) than any other ACC team. We end the week at 1-3!
UP NEXT:
No midweek game this week. But we play our OOC series beginning Friday at The Light vs North Dakota State University. The Bison from Fargo, are the Alabama...and then some...in FCS football. They are members of the Missouri Valley Conference and to date, they are 24-13 overall and 12-4/MVC so let's not dismiss them as an easy series sweep. The way we've been playing, minus today, we're in no position to take anyone lightly, especially down the homestretch. We need W's!
BTW, this is NDSU's stadium...Newman Outdoor Field. it's also home to the minor league team Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks of the Independent American Association. seats: 4,100+. Nice facility.
So we end the series on a high note. Now we have 4-5 days to rest up and get ready for the homestretch. Have a great week, Caniacs!
It's great to be...especially after winning by 11 runs...
Go Canes!

Happy Sunday, Caniacs...
I cannot cover today's game so if someone could provide updates, our fellow CS members and I
would really appreciate someone pinch-hitting. Nothing big, just scoring updates will help.
Baseball-wise, there is not much to be happy about, is there? Not when we're facing being swept by
unranked Georgia Tech, although they haven't performed like an unranked team.
We're riding a 4-game losing streak, worst of the season, plummeting to 31-12 overall and 16-7 in the
ACC. We've now got VaTech (30-10, 13-8/ACC) and UVA (33-11, 14-9/ACC) surging behind us. The only reason one of them hasn't caught us is bc they're playing each other this weekend.
After a one-day hiatus of being on ESPNU, Game 3 is back online with Watch ESPN/ACCNX.

Let's hope we have something to cheer about, Caniacs...with no midweek game this week, we don't play again until Friday at home vs North Dakota St. in a 3-game series.
IDK if ACC teams are scheduling OOC this late in the year. FSU is hosting 20th-ranked TCU this weekend which sounds a lot better than NDS. The following weekend we travel to Tally...if we don't this thing around that could be ugly. The Noles are playing better...they beat the Horned Frogs 10-0 Friday and 7-3 Saturday.
And lest I remind U, FSU swept us at The Light last year, outscoring us something like 35-4. That WAS ugly.
Have a great Sunday!
