The 2022 AMA Supercross Series starts tonight in Anaheim Ca at 8pm est. It will be aired live on CNBC. This should be an exciting year this year as up to 12 different riders in the 450 class are capable of winning on any given night. The first race will see most riders in top condition and ready to show how much work they've put in during the off season. The 250 class gets divided into East and West regions and unfortunately the 2 top contenders for the West title, defending champ Justin Cooper and top rival Jett Lawrence, both were injured preparing for the race. Should be some great racing tonight as riders will try to establish the pecking order for the year from the get go. A big rule in racing must be remembered though, You can't win the title at the first race of the year, but you can sure lose it with a dumb mistake. I know there's not a lot of fans on here but for those that want to see something different or are just bored, here's your chance. These guys are among the fittest athletes in the world in what many consider to be the toughest sport on the planet.

Not that I've seen. They used to hold The US Open of Supercross in Vegas after the regular season was over and at least one of the casinos had bets on it. I wish I could bet on it as I know a thing or two about the sport although crashes and injuries make it risky either way.

Have rooted for Team KTM since R. Dungy. Have loved watching Supercross since the early 80’s when Mark “The Bomber” Barnett won it. I was team Suzuki then because I had a RM 80 at the time. Thought I was a pretty good rider at the time, but can’t believe the things these guys can do now!!!

I went back a bit further to the era of Decoster, Hannah, Marty Smith and those guys. The bikes would break in half at times if you pushed them too hard back then. KTM has one of the best programs over the last few years but the Monster Energy Yamaha team is loaded this year. I can see why you were such a fan of Dungey's as he was a delight to watch and was as steady as it comes.

Pretty decent racing last night. German born Ken Roczen won the 450 main event while Christian Craig got the win in the 250 class. Two more title contenders in the 250 class were knocked out of the title chase including last year's 250 East champion, Colt Nichols, who crashed while leading one of the heat races. On to next weekend in Oakland.

Johnny O’mara
The O'Show. A great rider that outworked most of the other riders. He took training to new levels, especially when he was teamed with David Bailey. I met Johnny numerous times throughout the years and after he retired he trained a few of the younger guys. He's still very much involved with the sport.

Yeah we go back to the 2 stroke glory days. There was nothing like the smell of Bell Ray oil mixture. Thought they were crazy when they started going 4 sroke, but them machines are insane now.

You still get that smell at the local MX races in the junior classes for now. I prefer the feel of a 2 stroke but the 4 strokes make it easier to ride because of the type of power they have. Add in the fact that the new KTM 450's are about 20 pounds lighter than my 2008 Honda that I still race and it makes it easier still. I'm not very competitive these days, just do it for fun and to stay in shape.
