I was never a big fan of Ted Ginn, Jr. but I followed his career since he was a Dolphin draftee. I never expected him to last 14 years in the NFL, and I never expected him to amass 15,700 All Purpose yards, 6200 from scrimmage and 9500 as a Kick Returner. He also scored 40 TDs in his career.

This is far more than I expected from him at the beginning of his career, when he reminded me more of Jimmy Hines than a football player. I have also heard that he was a very good teammate, very popular in the locker room and a mentor for young players.

Again, he was not one of my favorite players, but 14 years and 15,700 All Purpose yards at the highest level are both tremendous accomplishments.

Good job, Ted

Yeah, he actually grew on me. He was fast....but had to learn how to use his speed because a lot of people in the NFL are fast. Interesting career. He was a pretty good return man. Grew on me over time as a receiver. Grew from please get him off the field to he can make a few plays from time to time.

I agree the guy really grinded it out. Very inconsistent to start, everyone loved his world class speed but he grinded it out.

You weren’t a fan?

Dolphin’s were criticized for taking him over Brady Quinn and it looks like they made the correct decision after all. 14 yrs vs four or five years for Quinn

Ginn started his career as a Dolphin and Brady Quinn finished his career as a Dolphin go figure.

Saying that I’ve never seen a player avoid getting hit like Ginn. He would look for that side line as soon as he had the ball, it was so obvious and hilarious. Probably why he lasted so long.

He’s a former Buck Nut so I don’t care for him either way…meh.

Question is...did you and Old Joe like Ginn's family? I remember Cam Cameron's infamous comment when being booed viciously for passing on Brady Quinn..."I promise you will love his family, too"

WOW old Joe...for someone who wasn't a fan, you sure know a lot about him.
I am a big stat guy. I like ProFootballReference.com. The same company has a College Stat tab & an MLB tab. Stats don't always reveal a player's quality but they DO tell a story. I was very surprised when I looked up Ginn's career stats. Very, very productive NFL player in his career

As another poster said...Ginn was the best at finding the sideline...
