Richt has a pretty good track record of hiring assistants on the defensive side of the ball. He chose Manny when he was not exactly a hot commodity.
When Alabama came and hired Kool, he hired Simpson who was roundly criticized as inexperienced and a step down from Kool, how did that turn out.
There were even posters who were complaining this morning that we had not hired his replacement yet and were going crazy over Blake James for not keeping Manny. The hire has not even been announced by Temple yet.
Relax, this is a good thing. You want to have your assistants hired away for a better job. There is no way that the UM could have kept Manny. He wants and is ready to be a head coach. This is how it works. if you do a great job, you get rewarded. Besides all of you who want him to be the next Head Coach at the UM, this is what you want. He needs to be a head coach elsewhere to ever be hired here as a head coach.
