The NFL draft showed that the U is relevant as ever player-wise. We had 7 and Alabama 7. They get mostly 5 stars and the U has 3 and 4 stars which means our coaching is building-up our players both now and for the NFL. Our players' accomplishments did not happen on their own. It took 3, 4 or 5 years of intense training from our coaches and staff. When Golden came in our players were weak and not tough enough. Therefore, he instituted the "U Tough" program after being manhandled by Notre Dame in El Paso. We have always had talented players but until recently we haven't had talented, tough players playing as a team! We are now finally on the path to greatness again because our players now are being recruited nationwide 24/7 to achieve the quality and depth needed to win consistently. Our 2016 Recruiting Class is rated #5! The quality of these players and their respect for Al Golden, the other coaches, our academics, and general reputation is building which will result in the coming years into a power house of a program with the old swagger back! It just takes time and incredible relentless effort by our coaches and staff and patience. This is not 1985. The standards are different nationwide. Most teams have strong fast players not just south Florida. To those diehard negative fans who want the coaches fired no matter what, you are living in a fantasy world. If Al Golden were to leave for any reason who would you hire? Who could you hire and at what price? We can't afford the $5 million salaries of the top teams in America being a private institution. And who would want to coach with a certain part of the fan base who will turn on you like snakes? The U is on the way back yard by yard, day by day, recruit by recruit. It is only a matter of time.
