I agree wholeheartedly that we played Tate way to much. There was no need for him to play as a decoy. We have much better receivers than he will ever be. I will say however that the talk of the receiver and DE being overrated is the most baffling thing. I seen on this site. First off, with the exception of Jeff Thomas, the receivers weren’t targeted often. How can they be when there offensive line didn’t give Williams any time. KJ Osborne is going to have a breakout season. Jeff Thomas played good with the exception of his 2 mistakes, but to say he’s overrated/overhyped is crazy. Yes he muffed a punt, so that makes him overhyped. You want to know who else muffed a punt at the U, Sean Taylor(RIP), against Tennessee. That actually cost us the game. I can guarantee no one on this thread will say he was overrated/hyped. People don’t realize this is a new offense and we played against a top defense against on a shortened off season. What did you guys expect?

As far as the DE someone on the other thread said they were overrated as well. Did you guys not see the scheme last night. They were dropping in coverage so often and doing a lot of spying. The play was to contain franks from running so they weren’t rushing as we have in the past. If you take away 2 throws and one was all the receiver franks numbers sucked. He’s not good and will be the reason Florida losses at least 3 games. I will say this Patchan is not better than Hill and won’t start long in my opinion.

The sad truth is miami played conservative last night on Defense and if we had two competent tackles this game would not have been close.
