Final Update:

The beat goes on, Caniacs as your Miami Hurricanes won their 9th game in a row with a 5-2 win over the visiting Florida Gulf Coast Eagles from Ft. Myers.

The Canes gave up a run in the top of the first but retook the lead in the top of the inning plating a pair of runs. We added a run in the second, the Eagles got within 1 in the 4th before the U added singe runs in the 6th and 8th to clo0se out the scoring.

The fact that FGCU was batting .318 and OB% is .900+ yet, our P staff held them to just 3 hits, 2 that came from the first 2 batters in the first inning says a lot.

DEFENSE
We had 1 throwing error by Pitelli in the first.

RECORDS
Miami ups it's record to 22-6 with a winning streak at 9...and counting. FGCU falls to 20-9.

UP NEXT
FIU visits The Light Wed at 6 pm and then...No. 3 UVA comes calling in a matchup of top ten teams that also sit 1-2 atop the Coastal. That series should be a doozy!

Again, a great big thank U to Cane50 for pinch-hitting tonight. Not sure if I will do FIU but I do plan to cover UVA, at least the first 2 games. IF we go 0-2, I kinda doubt I'll do Game 3.

Have a great rest of you week, Caniacs!

Hello, Caniacs…

Your 8th ranked Hurricanes begin. 6-game home stand tonight hosting Florida Gulf Coast Univ. who come to The Light to do some big-game hunting.

The Canes are 21-6 while the Eagles are 20-8. Let’s not underestimate our opponents. We only beat them 11-7 at their place back on March 30.

Jordan Dubberly is on the mound for us tonight.

My PC is down but no matter, I have to leave for a Lenten church service soon. If I can get my computer back up I will include links on how to follow the game. Thx.

Go Canes!
