They will get 7m in tax incentives from the state to stay. If Obama or the dems did this reps would be crying socialism. And another reason carrier agreed to stay is b/c the parent company doesn't want to piss off the trump administration for fear it could lose out on future defense contracts, that are 90% of the companies income. So much for draining the swamp, tax breaks for the rich that the public has to foot the bill!!!
All states give tax breaks to companies to get them to their states, it happens every day. Also Carrier is going to pump over 19 million to modernize the plant. The 7 million is over 10 years. My friend get ready for 8 years of progress, better go cry like the reporters are doing. Or better yet go to youtube and google Detroit, maybe you will learn something. If you don't live in Indiana like I do then it would be wise for you not to comment on issues of which you don't know what you're talking about. Trump claims to have saved approximately 1,100 jobs here in Indianapolis. These are the FACTS: Chuck Jones, President of United Steel Workers union for Carrier said "Trump lied his ass off". 300 hundred of those jobs are professional salaried positions that weren't going to leave in the first place so that leaves about 800 jobs that Mike Pence who is unfortunately our Governor that gave Carrier 7 million in tax incentives over 10 years for. Donald Trump doesn't have the authority to offer tax abatements to Indiana corporations. Trump said that he would slap tariffs on companies but he and Pence in essence bribed them. Carrier's CEO said that they are investing 17 million in the Indianapolis plant to automate it so those 800 jobs will undoubtedly be lost through technology. Trump and Pence also failed to mention that there is another Carrier plant 2 hours north of Indianapolis in Huntington, IN with 700 employees whose jobs WILL BE MOVING TO MEXICO and will be unemployed.
