I am not a Golden apologist. Neither am I interested in bashing him.
But I am interested in plausible arguments for the level of confidence you have in our coach.
Here's the presupposition: The way the playoff system has been setup, in most years a team doesn't have a chance to play for a championship with two losses. Therefore, within this new system, how many losses per year will Golden average over a 10 year period? If Golden could average 2 losses or less over the next 10 years we would be in our fair share of playoff games. I could live with that.
However, my confidence that we average 2 losses or less under his leadership is around a 25% chance.
I am more confident that we will average 4 losses a year over the span of 10 years. Which means we likely will never see a playoff game. And therein lies the problem.
