The abuse of this forum has become unmanageable, especially with the season coming.

We created this space to give you guys a place to discuss off topics like sensible adults

Not to turn it into a bully pulpit

Not to demean and disrespect each other.

Etc. Etc.

I am giving you guys a chance to correct it RIGHT NOW

Violators of common decency know who you are.

If it continues to be a problem, we will have to eliminate The Lounge which will be a shame to those who like to utilize this forum in a fun and productive way

Some of the attempts of bullying are getting way out of hand. They will just bring it to the other areas of the site. These people need to go.

We don't come here for that though. We come here to discuss topics. Nobody should have to deal with the other stuff on the board.
 
I agree to you stepping in here and I only wish it had been sooner. We’ve had countless members banned after a certain member was allowed to bait them into spouting off. Like most who want to though, they return under a different name and up the anti even further. Still though, it’s a good idea as it will only get worse the closer we get to Election Day.

Honestly though, I don’t really think you had much to worry about as the majority of us were destined to head back to the war room soon. So I would recommend not deleting the lounge rather suspending those members who violate your policies. No one should be above them!

Gary what do you mean using the lounge as a Bully Pulpit ?

Also Gary sometimes I think you see the reactions after people have been provoked. When the person that was provoked responds to the provoker the provoker reports the person and thats all you see.

Also if a person posts a thread, should a person that doesn't like the subject respond to the thread to harass people or just stay out of the thread.

I don't post nonsense unless it is a joke and I try to treat everyone the same here. My point is that there are some posters on here that have called me some bad things but I never would complain about it as they have the right to state their views even if they're wrong or I disagree with them. I also would never put anyone on ignore but there are a few that I have learned to not engage with when possible. If anyone does get upset with what gets said here they always have the option of not reading it.

Teach. I'd love to teach again. I've always believed that the greatest non-monetary feeling anyone can have is to teach someone, especially our youth, something. I loved teaching tennis at the Boys and Girls Club years ago during the summer. Loved teaching languages to student athletes at UM after college. Loved teaching business management at seminars to youths when I was with Enterprise Rent-A-Car and talking with local youths in the neighborhood. Will probably trade practicing law for teaching law one day.

I am not upset I would just like some clarification and not just vagueness. Lets have some examples of what we are really talking about here from the real moderator.

If I had to guess, it was likely brought on when Gary reviewed your complaint about CD calling everyone a muddapucker, which was likely followed by CD crying about people picking on him. So as opposed to banning CD or those Gary thought were picking on him he laid down the law.

In essence, you kids stop picking on your brother.
