Here's the kicker if folks like you keep voting liberal there will be no safety net let alone electricity. Money is finite, but not the liberal appetite to spend other peoples money. So you keep on voting for "social" issues like homosexuality or a women's "right" to snuff her unborn. If America is that dumb we are all that done.

Venezuela voted for a guy named Hugo Chavez... I had family there. I have historical ties to politics there so when you keep talking about social issues while this guy turns the US into socialism. This is the end game it's done.

Not conceding what you said in your first paragraph is true, or at least as you claim it to be, Romney ran on promising things to certain demographic groups and telling them what they wanted to hear, but those demographic groups have faded out of power and he lost by a clear and rather sizeable margin.
And any excessive enthusiasm is probably owed to enduring an endless bombardment of things like this thread, birther/muslim conspiracies, racial slurs, and other nonsense, only to see the President reelected.

Mike, im not to sure Regans Tax plan was that low but you could be right. Maybe im thinking about his tax plan for the rich and i know that was around 27-33% of income.
And FDR left this country in good shape for Eisenhower and JFK, all they had to do is not mess up what was already set fourth, something George Bush couldnt/didnt do. Also i doubt JFK would be considered a "right wing nut" considering all he wanted to do for African-Americans, starting up MediCare and MediCaid, his civil rights laws, and other minority themed bills/laws (once again something Republicans of today look pass).
As Advarkas said earlier, "Republicans need to change there approach on alot of social economic issues" Latinos, African-Americans, and Asians are starting to pull more and more to the Left, and when that happens White conservatives are going to be drastically out numbered when major elections come up.

You have an opinion quoted from a liberal lobbyist, and a bunch of speculation from someone at the National Senior Council that fills on article put out by the National Senior Council. The damning quote "It feels like the start of a government takeover." The opinion of one person whose credibility is unknown gets you this worked up?
On substance, I am not sure what the big concern is, there are already limits on how much you can contribute to tax advantaged plans and restrictions on what you can withdraw and when.
You are always free not to have a tax advantaged plan.
The government is not going to confiscate wealth already in retirement plans if that is what you are worried about.
When the President or someone with significant authority in his administration actually introduces some proposed policy change that would eliminate private, tax advantaged retirement vehicles, or "nationalize" retirement plans, then you can be concerned.

The Constitution protects the balance between state and federal rights.
There are instances where state rights do override federal powers.
