What's more important - an ace recruiter at RB or WR?

Both guys will have to hold their weight in recruiting but it will be interesting to see what position coach Mario values more as a recruiter. Have seen him go down the experienced RB coach path with Jim Mastro at Oregon. Some strong options for ace recruiters with South Florida ties, plus the WR room probably needs more of a teacher right now. The offense, if successful, can probably recruit itself.

Miami Hires Tim Harris Jr. Away from UCF

Huge hire. Proven developer at the RB spot since 2015. Turned D'Vonte Price and Anthony Jones into NFL caliber backs. Has had a three-man rotation the last two years that have produced 1700+ yards and 17+ touchdowns in both seasons. Stealing Harris away from what will be a P5 school with an elevated title is big. He comes home where he will develop a strong stable of backs and be able to recruit South Florida with ease.

Ben, can you do a good morning canestalk or something?

Breath some life into here. Get your guys to drink some beers, get some players from the last ten years as guests, etc. put on a show. Something. Personality, entertainment, color, excitement. Anything.

You guys tried it at first and it was awful. You aren’t walter Cronkite. You’re not computers importing info and then exporting info like a damn computer. You’re human beings, so have some fun and do what you love. It’ll show, I promise.

Two local pass rushers to watch

South Florida has two pass rushers that fit what this staff is looking for from a size and production standpoint and could pick up Miami interest very soon

Crothers plays for a pipeline program, is 6'4" 235-pounds and had 14.5 sacks this season. He has seen his recruitment pick up since the beginning of 2023. Miami is going to want to keep Chaminade in their back pocket for future prospects and Crothers is a local gem that would keep them in the good graces of the program. He will hit 20 offers before he signs - a rise that might be similar to Edwin Joseph.

Rudolph is an elite prospect that basically falls in Miami's lap. Talking to his high school coach, the contact has been kicked off with Miami since he moved down. New LB coach Derek Nicholson is familiar with him from his short time with Cincy and actually coached his high school coach from Taft (Ohio). He just picked up FSU and will likely pop Florida soon, as well. Do not be surprised to see him become a player that starts trending Miami's way.

Will we ever see internal hires?

There were several instances this off-season where a coaching opening could have been filled with an off-field coach.

Defensive Coordinator - Charlie Strong
WR Coach - Pop Cooney
LB Coach - Sabbath Joseph

Plus DVD has had the opportunity to be moved up to DB/CB coach if Strong would have gotten the job. Do you think Cristobal ever looks in house on future hires? Would you have been happy as a fanbase with an internal hire at any of those spots? It is an intriguing conversation because of the potential bonus in recruiting that the listed names provide.
