4-Star DB Conrad Hussey Announcing Thursday 6 pm

St. Thomas Aquinas (FL) four-star safety Conrad Hussey will announce his college commitment tonight at Champs Sports in Pembroke Pines.

Hussey will announce at around 7 PM alongside 12 of the top high school football players in South Florida. He'll choose between Penn State, Florida State and Miami.

He wants to announce his decision in front of his hometown fans in South Florida. The Canes have picked up some steam in his recruitment as of late.

Brown and Fletcher

In my opinion Mark Fletcher will commit to Florida and Damari Brown will commit to Alabama. Of course, this could change by weekend's end but as of right now this is how I'm feeling. Fletcher has already made up his mind that he is going to Florida and Brown based on the interview we had with him after the state championship game Alabama certainly seems like the play right now. The class seemingly will stay as is unless there is a surprise flip of Stanquan Clark which I would not bet on.

Recruiting/Transfer Updates On Early National Signing Day Eve

Miami remains in a good spot for transfers DT Thomas Gore, and LB Francisco Mauigoa. Gore likely announcing tomorrow and no date yet for Mauigoa.

DL Tunmise Adeleye will be taking a visit to Michigan State today so hold off on penciling Adeleye to Miami for now. Miami was confident going into the weekend but suddenly he's been silent.

There is still an outside chance WR Dont'e Thornton commits to Miami but we will have to wait and see as the receiver will take more visits in January.

I feel confident (60/40) about Damari Brown committing to Miami's class due to family factors but turning down a chance to play with Nick Saban at Alabama will be tough for Brown to swallow.

A source feels confident that Brandon Inniss could flip to Miami. The staff is throwing everything they have at the five-star wide receiver, but Inniss has communicated numerous times that he is committing to the Buckeyes. Still feel Cristobal and company have a puncher's chance there. Another source says that ship has sailed. If he extends to January forecast Inniss to Miami.

The Travis Hunter smoke is real. Miami is pushing to land the former five-star Jackson State transfer. Fighting off the likes of Georgia, USC and of course, Colorado with Deion Sanders will be tough to fend off.

Unfortunately, Miami could get two de-committments from the 2023 class with one that potentially could be heading to Boulder, Colorado to join Deion Sanders. One of the three 2023 tight ends could end up elsewhere so don't be surprised.

Miami is still in the race for DB Edwin Joseph as Miami is still pushing with Florida State as the top contender. Safety Derek Williams has pushed back his signing to February leaving an opportunity for Miami to get him on campus. Safety Daylen Austin is also a name to watch to make it on campus next month.

Another player from the DB room could potentially transfer out especially if Miami is able to land Conrad Hussey. Miami is still getting traction to flip Hussey. It's a neck-and-neck three-team battle with Miami, FSU, and Penn State. Miami remains in a good place with Hussey after his visit over the weekend which could push out a current defensive back to the portal. Miami desperately needs to add safety help to the DB room.

Updates The Monday Before Signing Day

We are expecting committments from transfers DB Davonte Brown and DL Tunmise Adeleye that could come as soon as today. Transfers DL Thomas Gore and LB Francisco Mauigoa are also expected to make their announcements to commit to Miami as well.

We are gaining more confidence in Damari Brown committing to Miami as well. We are hearing that Brown visited Miami over the weekend although he said he was done with visits after the state championship game.

Four-star Safety Derek Williams and four-star DB Edwin Joseph seem to be trending away from Miami at this time.

Johnny Ruiz which is the eldest of the 3 kids that make up the “Ruiz clan” has released designs for the long awaited and planned Tropical Park football stadium

About the UM football stadium
Who will fund the stadium?
The head of the ”Ruiz clan” is John H. Ruiz, a business billionaire and University of Miami alumni, who seeks to establish a new place in Southwest Miami-Dade at Tropical Park off Bird Road for the University of Miami football team. Then we have Alex Ruiz - Chief Executive Officer of Cigarette Racing, Cristy Ruiz - Chief Marketing Officer of Cigarette Racing, and last but not least there is, Johnny Ruiz - Chief Operations Officer of Cigarette Racing and also the one mostly involved with the anxiously awaited UM football stadium.

About the UM football stadium

The stadium would include a floating scoreboard, air conditioning, 60,000 seats approx., a retractable roof, luxurious suites, and other amenities. Ruiz is working with HKS Architecture, who also designed and built SoFiStadium in California and AT&T Stadium in Texas. According to Ruiz, the floating scoreboard at Tropical Park UM football stadium will be similar to the scoreboard at SoFi Stadium.
The Miami Hurricanes football team has been playing football at Hard Rock Stadium since leaving the Orange Bowl in 2008. It is located about 20 miles from the Coral Gables campus of the Canes. According to Ruiz, the distance from the university to the UM football stadium would be almost 3 miles which makes Tropical Park an excellent location.
These are only the initial drawings of the stadium, according to Ruiz, so that people may have a sense of the overall design.
In recent tweets John H. Ruiz has shared details of what he and the “Ruiz clan” want the future LifeWallet Park to be aside from being home to the University of Miami Hurricanes football team. Rumors abound that the UM football stadium will be enclosed, it will have 4 jumbo screens on all 4 sides equipped with biometric technology, a temperature controlled retractable roof, high-end suites, water views behind the end zone, and indoor palm trees. But that is just a sneak peak of what is to come.

Who will fund the stadium?

Ruiz said that the stadium would be privately funded and not need any government funds when questioned about the process of turning it into a reality. Also, the purchasing of the land in this situation would have to be made with Miami-Dade County and not the City of Miami. The procedure would be quite comparable to the one used to create Freedom Park, which was recently passed by the voters. Ruiz stated, "if we followed their example, our method would probably be similar."
Regarding a completion date, Ruiz tweeted that the UM football stadium project may be finished by 2025, but he guaranteed that there would be much more information soon.

More Updates After Cohen Commits To Miami

DB Davonte Brown and DL Tunmise Adeleye should be the next to commit to Miami. With decisions that could come as soon as Sunday. From what I'm hearing DL Thomas Gore will also commit and the Canes are in a good place with WR Dont'e Thornton but no imminent announcement on Thornton.

Miami still doing its best to land DB Conrad Hussey, DB Damari Brown, and RB Mark Fletcher.

The family wants Fletcher to stay home and an announcement can come as soon as Sunday afternoon/evening. His visit officially completes tomorrow morning. I moved to 60/40 to Miami on Fletcher.

I also am moving 55/45 to Miami on Damari Brown.

Damari Brown may very well stay home as well as the family also is on Miami's side not only because of the obvious connection with his dad being an alum but other family factors are involved and that could be the deciding factor.

Also moving to a 60/40 on Conrad Hussey. Hussy came away impressed from his visit and will take some time before ultimately deciding. Hussey likely to wait until signing day. Strong possibility a flip from Penn State could happen.

Another name to keep an eye on is Texas commit S Derek Williams. Miami would love to add another blue-chip safety to the class.

Also hearing DB Edwin Joseph could still be a possibility as well. Heard Miami visited Joseph recently. Florida State and Penn State are the top two contenders there.

Mario Cristobal could have a clean sweep and this could very well be a historic class and transfer haul.

  • Davante Brown

Odd seem 50/50 for Cristobal to land both Fletcher and Damari Brown but Miami will get its shot this weekend.

Will Miami get both blue chip American Heritage players?

Lew Flips to Auburn

Connor Lew visited Auburn twice before making his final visit last week. The projected center, Auburn talked to him about life after football and convinced him that it was a better option long-term and a chance to stay closer to home with him from Georgia.

The loss puts Miami at four offensive linemen committed to the class and still with one center in Antonio Tripp. Jovian Cohen will likely compete for a guard position if Miami is able to land the transfer from Alabama. Jakai Clark is expected to be the starter at center next season. Jonathan Denis would likely be the backup along with Laurence Seymore.
