Sanctions have pushed Russian banks to the brink of collapse, their currency has fell to a record low against the US dollar and they had to close their stock exchange. Sounds like a success to me.

I said the sanctions look like a success. Their currency is at all-time low versus u.S. dollar, worth less than 1 U.S. cent, their banks are on the verge of collapse and they had to close their stock exchange.
And Putin makes $1 Billion USD every day in hard currency by pumping oil. More every time the price of oil increases. Sanctions have not changed this. Russia's economy is commodities based, not stock market driven. The ultimate sanction would be "drill baby drill".
Russian's banks are cash based and on the verge of collapse, their currency is near worthless against the US dollat and as for "drill baby drill" we are the leading oil producer in the world! BTW, a barrel of oil is priced in U.S. dollars across the world and their currency is near worthless versus the US dollar.

Do you deny that we are the leading oil producer in the world? We still import because we are also the biggest consumer and need to meet energy needs. The vast majority of the imported oil is from Canada. The majority of what we import from Russia is fuel oil not crude and it's used to produce gasoline.
Is that like when 100,000 jobs a month were being lost by Obamanomics and Urkel would stand up and say he "but he saved 200.000 more from being lost"?
