Be careful- Covid still here

Daughter flew to NYC before getting tested. We were going to visit her and play tourist and had to cancel trip last night, Very bummed.

NoSho. Same story with my adult son. Had a business trip to NYC for 3 days before flying back to Cali. Tested himself on his drive home to his family. Positive! Went directly to isolation in a hotel with doordash food delivered for the next 5 days.

The planes flying around from NYC are likely full of infection!

My son has missed a week of med school and has totally fcked up his schedule. They go very fast.

Yeah it’s still rearing it’s ugly head
Hopefully the vax and boost keep the worst away
I keep dieting as my weight was a co morbidity
Really not much to do other than to avoid getting close to people.
Im not a big mask person, I just avoid people

This has been a wake up call for me. I was getting a little cavalier about it ,but now I'm going back to being more circumspect. Pissed off it ruined my daughter's birthday.

Daughter got it.

Went for my physical last week. My doctor who was previously a huge vaccine advocate told me she was no longer a vaccine propagandist. Her words.

She said she is seeing cases from people who are fully vaxed and boosted and it doesn't seem to matter.

It never mattered. Lockdowns, masks, social distancing, isolation, screwing small businesses while "essential" big box stores flourished, never mattered. The all-time grift of our time...

39% of the deaths in Utah during Omicron were from those that had been vaccinated.

Both adult children came down with Covid this week- Miami and Singer Island- both fully vaxed- both sick.
I got it a couple weeks ago , initially I thought it was the flu. Being the loving husband I am I gave it to my wife who’s anemic.

It amazed me how fast it hit.

We we’re celebrating my wife’s birthday Friday and I couldn’t understand why I was so tired.

On Saturday afternoon I told my wife I was going upstairs to take a nap.

About twenty minutes later I came down with the shakes, then hot, cold , hot and body aches.

Im thinking to myself I could be dying upstairs and my wife wouldn’t know it.

I stayed in bed for about 18 hrs, and was basically worthless for four days.

I was vaccinated. I don’t think the vaccine, natural immunity, or obviously a mask will keep you from getting it.

The best thing you can do is take care of yourself eat right, exercise, plenty of sunshine and hope for the best.

I had it in January. Mild fever, sore throat, and that's about it. I've said from the beginning you just live your life. There's a good chance that someone on this board will get and die from cancer. Could very well be me. 50,000 Americans die from Cancer every month.
There is obviously nothing anyone can do from getting Covid. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst, and take what God sends.

Both my nephews and brother in law have it. It’s not what it use to be. One has flu symptoms, the other two cold symptoms. It’s not going any where.

clearly the masks did nothing but I really wish people would do a better job of washing their hands. Was always a fan of sanitizer stations every where too. I don’t think this has as much to do with covid as much as I just wish the public would take sanitary practices more seriously. Germs are germs. They’re not good. Why not take 15 seconds to just kill germs? Nothing wrong with having a more sanitary society.

Much of the data suggest that people with multiple Comorbidities represent a significant percentage of people with bad outcomes. It is becoming clearer that younger, healthy people likely will do far better than older, people with medical issues.

From the very beginning we should have been focused on protecting the higher risk groups and not scaring the crap out of the lower risk ones.

My daughter had sweats sore throat, cough, and couldn't get out of bed for her birthday.
NoSho,

My son was able to immediately get and follow a 5 day regimen of Pfizer’s newish anti viral pills, Paxlovid. He says that his symptoms improved greatly within just 2 days of starting the medication.

Were your kids able to get their hands on this sometimes hard to find medicine?

Lots of fully vaxed people getting nailed. My daughter is quite sick.
The headaches are the worst. She will be very very tired / fatigued. She MUST fight that and walk around and exercise her lungs. Then she can pound the hot soup and fluids. After the 10 days she will still be very tired / fatigued BUT SHE CAN NOT just lay in bed! Walks, deep lung respiratory breathing periodically and walk around. Then get back in bed.

Truth.. My 29 year old son ( all 3 have had Covid only 1 vaccinated) went to his Doctor the other day. He all but told him no vaccine. Said it's not how immunity is derived and is not really working as billed. He told him he is young, strong, healthy don't do it.

December tested positive. Headaches every 4 hours once the tylenol wore off. Chills day 1 sweats day 2. Then just headaches and very tired.

I got it last week. Nothing more than “mild” flu like symptoms for me.
Never lost taste, no stuffy nose. Just achy, and a cough.
Worse symptoms lasted 48 hours.
there is a Covid cocktail, a 3 pill (2x a day) 5 day treatment.
Not worth shutting down anything for, IMO
