Where do I even start? I have been on here a longtime and have been everything U longer than I can remember- fan, alum and donor for over 2 decades. I cannot remember the last time when I didn’t care to see a Canes football game - and that is exactly what happened yesterday vs Duke. I truly didn’t care to continue watching the program I grew up as a kid loving so much be continually driven into the ground by James and Co.
This is simple psychology - it’s Pavlov’s dog. The dog in this psychological experiment was kept in a cage and would be zapped every so often reacting intensely everytime at the beginning and after a while the dog would stop reacting and just sit there - it was called “learned helplessness”
This is exactly what is happening to all of us - we are stopping to react to these losses because we know that no matter how much we care and voice our opinions on the state of the football program - with James as AD and inept Diaz as his captain- this program is going nowhere. It is a creating a very dangerous apathy towards the football program, or in other words creating a “learned helplessness” among its most loyal supporters. Dangerous because the program’s goto and most loyal supporters have stopped caring and will stop their financial support of the program. I for one will cutoff everything- my 16 season tickets and my donations to the hurricane club. I assume many will follow suit and that is when James becomes susceptible, vulnerable and exposed. For all the money that @gferman says that Blake has raised, he is about to lose tenfold in financial support and only then will he be shown the door leading to new hope to bring in a competent AD that will manage this once proud and dominant football program back to a semblance of what it once was. There is no other way. Without a proper AD hire or maybe James bringing in a Football Czar to oversee the football program firing Diaz will solve nothing.
