I truly wish you were correct. Putin is a bad actor. But evil is winning in a lot of places. China for one. They control Hong Kong once the bastion of free enterprise and have Taiwan in their sites. Do you realize what China could do to the US if they decided to say stop sending pharmaceuticals, rare earth minerals and many other critical exports We export the NBA to them. Drug Cartels now control much of Latin America and have bought off parts of the US government. The Taliban is in control of Afghanistan.

Carving out energy from the Russian sanctions took away the majority of their strength. Russia is exporting oil and gas, not TV's and cars. Germany and other European countries will continue to pay whether the funds are routed through SWIFT or China. Russia can feed and keep their own people warm. Biden is weak and the bad guys will continue to push the envelope. The world has gotten much more dangerous.

We have to hope and pray the sanctions and crashing world view on Putin drives him OUT of office or he gets the "Et Tu Brute' " very soon, or China, Iran, et al will buy Russian in mass and blow him right back up. If that happens, we have the Warsaw pack vs Nato all over again, except much much closer to War. Incorrect again. Putin will conquer Ukraine. It will be far harder then he anticipated and I appreciate the effort by the Ukranian people. My Father in law has family in Ukraine. HOLDING Ukraine will be his downfall. It will be a constant source of death and injury for Putin. I don't know whether I agree that he made a miscalculation because the mind of madmen doesn't work like that. There will be immense pressure on him from his inner circle.

In my building the Penthouse #1 which is 9000 sq ft is owned by a Russian who owns / runs all the coal mines in Russia. He hasn't been allowed here since like 2018 when TRUMP put sanctions on Russia. That is just 1 example of an oligarchs 12mm penthouse just sitting here. He owns lots of those but his visa was revoked by Trump. So the pressure will be high. I wouldn't be surprised if they kill him. I'm serious.
