Nationally, the largest percent of registered voters are Independent. In the last three elections, Independents have gone against the party holding the White House. On this board you're either pro Trump or labeled a Lib. So where are all the Independents?

Most independents are former republicans turned independent because of John McCain & Mitt Romney.

Right here. It's just a shame that we can't find a candidate that represents us. Both parties have been going further to the extremes.

Why is it that anyone on this board who is not pro Trump is labeled a Lib when Independents have gone against the party holding the White House in the last three elections? It's because on this board there is the hard-core right wing and anybody to the left is labeled a Lib with nobody in the middle!

Some people don’t really understand the whole scope of being independent, being independent doesn’t mean moderate. There are conservative, liberal, completely uniformed, and radical independents.

A zillion years ago when I first registered, independent was called nonpartisan. Both my parents were, they said, you vote for the candidate, I followed. Almost went Democrat when I was young because I was racking up tickets ( moving violations ) and in Philly your committee man could get them fixed at traffic court. NP didn’t have committeemen

Probably for the same reason that anyone who defends Trump on any issue gets labeled a Pub by some. People are just so dug in right now and I'm not sure that it will change anytime soon. I try my best not to label anyone and at least listen to what they're saying while still arguing my side if I disagree with them.

My dad was independent at one time, because you used to be able vote in both primaries.

Not sure think different states different rules. Don’t ever remember voting in a primary.

Apparently if I understood correctly Florida was one, I may be wrong, I know he went from a Kennedy democrat to voting republican.

The definition I found stated that Independents are, for the most part, moderate partisans who are disillusioned with the two major parties but most end up aligning with one party or the other.

Agree...

Though I came from a family of CHICAGO DEMS... can't talk politics AT ALL with them

PERSONALLY..

As an INDEPENDENT...

BOTH SIDES of the AISLE have:

GOOD POINTS
GOOD PEOPLE

But the CORRUPTION and GREED pervades and perverts the WHOLE SYSTEM...

BOTH SIDES...

And we the PUBLIC...
blissfully kept in the DARK...

NOBODY LEGIT wants to be PREZ...
How can you BLAME them?

IMO
TRUMP is SCARY
BIDEN is WORSE.

GOD BLESS AMERICA...

no

I am a conservative. I voted for Ted Cruz in the primaries. So did my woman friend who is an independent.
Trump is not a conservative, but I am not going to vote Democratic as most them are Socialists. If you think Trump is a conservative you are a libtard.

I’m independent have never been a part of any party ever. As I think bear guys said each side has there good and bad. And both parties are going very extreme. I agree with republicans on some things and dems on others. I will always vote for candidate over party.

I think OP is right on anyone not pro trump labeled a lib at least in the lounge lol. I can’t stand trump but voted for him over Hilary cause she would have been worse IMO. Trump is the biggest facking crybaby of a president in the history of our country and def has Narcissistic personality disorder, but lord help us had Hillary won. 2016 and 2020 not great choices for president hoping 2024 will be better. I mean we can’t get any worse than Hilary Trump and a half dead Biden, can we?

There are a boatload of Independents in the middle of the political spectrum up for grabs this cycle, which is precisely why various non-insane GOP groups are running ads like this.

and this.....
