Fumble, interception or missed assignment, the camera pans to Richt who is basically dead panned. If you look at the coaches who take home the trophies, they are the ones who demand perfection, preach fundamentals and know when to get fired up and when to bark. Nick and Belichick do not care how much they are winning by, if you make a mistake you hear about it. It seems every year we talk about playing down to our competition. Well maybe that starts with the head guy and his inability to inspire/scare these kids into crushing the weaker competition. There is a line and I dont want the coach who is abusive to his players or puts his hands on them, but someone needs to light the fire. Manny has more passion, jumps and hollers and you see our defense respond but until our offensive has a similar figure, we will be a disjointed program.
This is not a fire Richt post... I like him... love what he is doing for the program (Rome was not built in a day). But if he is not capable of being an in your face guy, we need a strong offensive coordinator who can be and who will be respected for it and get a positive response from his players.
