Since the ACC expanded with the Coastal Division, here are the winners:
Virginia Tech - 6
Georgia Tech - 4
Duke - 1
North Carolina - 1
Pitt - 1
Miami - 1
Right now, UVA is in the best spot to win the Coastal.
Let's look at those school's NFL production since 2006 (first ACCCG) - number of picks in the first two rounds
Virginia Tech - 11
Georgia Tech - 6
Duke - 2
North Carolina - 15
Pitt - 8
Miami - 16
If you look at picks in the first 3 rounds or let's say the first 100 picks, guess who has the most? It's us, and it's not even close.
Gary - are you really saying that we didn't have the talent to win more than ONE coastal division in the last 15 years? Are you really saying these other schools out-recruited us? Stop looking at LSU and Alabama. That's not helpful for any reason because we look terribly pathetic to those two in EVERY category. Let's start with the Coastal. I'd like to win a second title before even thinking about the next step.
We either had unbelievably bad coaches, or we had players who were just too damn entitled and not hungry enough to give a damn about winning anything in college. Or perhaps we had both, which is just about the worst place to be in my opinion. I know you're trying to simplify things by pointing to "talent gaps," but a second grader can tell you we pale in comparison to LSU and Alabama, and that same second grader can tell you that we've had MORE THAN ENOUGH talent to win 3-4 coastal division titles at least in the last 15 years.
