Actually a combination of cancelling Keystone XL but mostly the decision by the Saudi's to restrict daily output by 1 million barrels per day resulted in prices spiking. It's a little crazy because the Saudi decision HELPS USA producers who require higher prices to maintain or increase market share which they gave us on a silver platter.

Keystone was no where near being ready so that has nothing to do with prices going up. Stop making up lies.

This issue is therefore a political red herring that conservative media are pushing to animate their flock. In the real world, it’s a non issue in terms of the oil price.

Strategic Petroleum Reserves is for national emergencies (like wars), not for random use so people with gas guzzling SUVs get lower gas prices. The demand for oil is back to where it was pre-COVID which means gas prices will be in the same neighborhood.
