Chris Johnson was looking at Ole Miss. I doubt he pushes for Johnson at Auburn with really good 2023 RB Jeremiah Cobb locked in. Don't think Cadillac Williams evaluated Johnson highly as a RB. That could put Miami back in position to land Johnson and still grab Mark Fletcher.
Kiffin coming on I think helps the Rueben Bain situation for Auburn. Big time hire. He recruited him at Ole Miss. The only question is if he keeps pass rush coach Roc Bellantoni. If he gets ousted, I think that might take Auburn out of the race for Bain. Strong relationship there with him. Coached his brother at FAU.
Miami does not seem to be on Edwin Joseph heavy right now but if they strike out on Damari Brown, would not be surprised to see them jump back in the race for Joseph. Joseph took an official to Auburn and they seem to be in the final three with Louisville and Florida State. Have to see what Kiffin does at DC and if he keeps DB coach Zach Ethridge. He does an excellent job recruiting South Florida and seems to be high on Joseph. If Ike Hilliard is kept on as WR coach, they actually evaluated him highly as a WR as well. Might be intriguing for Joseph to potentially play WR in a Kiffin led offense.
