To be 100% clear; I, and I think I speak for most, had ZERO reason for mis-trusting or not liking or not believing Fauci and Birx when this thing started. However his lack of accountability for being wrong, his ego even after proven wrong, his constant TV appearences giving directives to the citizens (not his job) have caused me and many to figure out that he sucks.
My two cents for Team Red which I am a proud member of. We should always go the extra mile to be factual. We should also hold all on our side accountable to a high bar of truth and decency. Just because the left 99.999% of the time does not, is not an excuse. We should hold ourselves to a higher standard.
I disagree. The country is in this situation partly because the Republicans played by this nicer set of rules. They gotta play the same game with the same rules. Someone here pointed out that Mitch McConnell is the only one to play by their rule, which enabled 3 SCOTUS appointments, setting up the country for generations. But Republicans give him all this shit.
If Republicans win the house and senate, they need to immediately play the Dems’ game and draw up articles of in impeachment for both Biden and Harris for lying and investigate Biden’s ties to Hunter and China. If neither of these happen, they are all talk after what happened to Trump.

This is a great point. Trump started holding Press Conferences with Fauci, Birx, and the rest of his Covid team when this crisis first hit, almost on a daily basis, which I've yet to see Biden do. I was actually a fan of Fauci initially. My opinion turned when he did a 180 on masks then dismissed any therapeutics out of hand. It gradually became clear that a solution wasn't in the cards with him and the details of his past misdeeds started pouring in.

My OP was about Lara Logan. Period. Please don’t complicate or deflect things by saying “but what about Obama, Don Lemon, whoever.?” Stick to the topic or start a new post if you like.
The facts:
*Lara Logan was physically and sexually assaulted in 2011 in Cairo during the mass celebrations for the overthrow of Hosne Mubarak. . She was dragged to safety by others in the crowd.
*Her exit from CBS had nothing whatsoever to do with this event. Rather, her 60 Minute piece on Benghazi was later criticized and debunked for faulty journalism and unsupported allegations. She was perhaps duped by a supposed witness to the murder of the American ambassador. Her reputation at CBS did not recover.
*After leaving CBS, she was hired by the Sinclair Network and then by Fox in 2020. Last week, she reported that many people around the world compare Dr. Fauci to the notorious Nazi Dr. Mengele. She has been widely condemned for this reckless allegation and specifically condemned by the Jewish Anti Defamation League and the Auschwitz Museum.
Again, I salute HJ as the only member of the Red Team on this site to step up and declare that this comparison of Fauci to Mengele is outrageous and out of bounds. It’s an insult to Jews and a total failure of journalistic integrity.

Yes, she was attacked in Cairo. Yes, her criticized 60 Minutes report was about Benghaz, Libya. So, you dramatically conclude that because both of these two events involve Islamic countries that they must be causally related?

Former “60 Minutes” correspondent Lara Logan has filed a $25 million defamation suit against New York Media and writer Joe Hagan for a story that ran in New York magazine in 2014 titled “Benghazi and the Bombshell.”The story concerned a report by Logan in 2013 on "60 Minutes" about the 2012 attacks on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya. Four Americans were killed in the attack, including U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens.
The report was retracted one month after it aired after it was determined that a key interview in the story included false information.
“The headline reference to ‘Bombshell’ was both sexist, insulting and defamatory at the same time,” Logan's lawsuit states. It refers to the story as the "Hagan Hit Piece."
The lawsuit contends that the story ended up costing Logan financially and that it portrayed her in a misleading light.
“The word was intended to portray Logan as a dangerous and untouchable and incendiary reporter," the lawsuit states.
Logan also charges that Hagan's piece included several false statements. Hagan referred to a "groping" of Logan while the reporter was on assignment in Egypt; Logan said she was the victim of a gang rape.
Logan's report included an interview with British security contractor Dylan Davies, who provided misleading statements about his actions on the night of the attack on Sept. 11, 2012. Davies's book, "The Embassy House," had provided the same false account of his actions during the attack. Simon & Schuster, which is owned by CBS Corp., recalled the book as a result.
Weeks after the story aired, Logan apologized publicly on "CBS This Morning" for the “mistake” regarding Davies's account being included in the piece, but noted that the essential parts of the report remained true.
Hagan's story that ran seven months after the story's original airing came as Logan was rebuilding her reputation internally at "60 Minutes."
“The plan for Logan’s return to ‘60 Minutes’ was entirely and completely derailed after publication of the Hagan Hit Piece,” the suit claims.
Logan’s compensation at the time the Hagan piece ran was $2.15 million. Her next contract was reduced to $750,000 as only a part-time correspondent.
But for the Hagan Hit Piece, Logan would have earned more than $2,150,000 per year as a '60 Minutes' correspondent,” the suit claims. “She was young and extremely talented. She expected to work for CBS indefinitely.”
Hagan has since moved to Vanity Fair, but New York Media says it is standing by the story.
“The New York Magazine article was thoroughly vetted and fact-checked, and we stand by our reporting,” a New York Media spokeswoman said in a statement provided to The Hill on Friday.
The Hill has reached out to Hagan for comment.
Logan, 48, recently signed with Fox News's streaming service, Fox Nation, to host a docu-series that will include her reporting "from the front lines of America’s political and ideological war zones and dive into a number of hot-button issues with on-the-ground coverage and expert interviews," according to a network announcement in November.
