Markets take a big hit today

Wrong- it finished up 250 points on Inauguration Day.

and it’s been typically on the up since he’s been President Elect on November 7 2020.

Probably cuz its up 3k since he was declared winner?

Now if we are starting by inauguration days your going to need to recalibrate Trump because he always counts from the day he was elected. I mean it was only a 800 point bump so he may not care but it really helps his numbers percentage gain wise (he doesn't sniff Obama's numbers) so I doubt he'd want them replaced.

Just be consistent.

Only day traders care about whether the market was up or down on a given day. Market makers adjusted their position when it became clear Biden won the election (around November 6th) and barring anything unusual, they are going to stay in their positions until they run their course.

Jobs often do, along with current and future earnings

When the reality of higher energy costs begin to take hold, that is when the poop is really going to hit the fan. On a every person stand point gas prices are up around 25 cents per gallon since the New Year. That is a tax that hurts the poor and middle class the most. It also filters into any product delivered. Affects little things like food and clothing..

Still looking for that solar panel I can put on the roof of my SUV.and not have to stop at the gas station.

The Dow was at 30,930 the day of Biden’s inauguration - it is now at 30,300 that’s after a 257 pt gain on Inauguration Day S&P took a 100 pt loss today the NASDQ a 355 pt loss Am I wrong ?

Your starting point is wrong. It’s not Inauguration Day, it’s Election Day in early November. If you look at the S&P chart for early November there’s a very noticeable change after the election was called. same thing happened when Trump beat Hillary four years earlier. Big money market movers get into positions when they receive long term conformation of political and policy changes on the horizon, which is reinforced by the historical charts when each Presidential election is called.

So we’re all in agreement then that this market and the economy are Biden’s. The second he put pen to paper and began reversing the previous admins policies everything became his. No blaming the last guy if things go bad

Raoul all you have to do is google Jan 20. 2021 the day before Biden took office. The market closed at 30,930! - his policies since have DECREASED market value - and they have been down every day since Inauguration Day

A. Perhaps we define middle class differently, B. institutional algorithms drive the market, C. on Game Stop day you question this?
A) yes we definitely define the middle class differently.
b) you just answered my question on if you were joking.
c) see b)

This is why you never bash the other party or get too high ( if it’s your guy) day to day with the stock market In regards to who is President.

Yesterday looked sexy for trumpers to bash and today well...market over 300 points.

so funny these posts

Where did I bash the other guy or party in my post ? All I did was present a fact - one obviously that you didn’t like -

Dow losing in first month of Biden Presidency. Let’s hope for a better February as the unemployment rate goes up due his EOs.

This would make sense if. the market only found out about his policies on January 21st. That's not however the case since his policies were widely known during the campaign and market makers received confirmation they would be enacted when Biden won the Presidency in early November. That is why November 7th or thereabouts is the actual start date for Biden's market - just as it was for Trump four years earlier.
