TVD having a streak of 5 bad ass games and being a stud who loves the game and loves the U has received plenty of recognition, but not as much as he deserves.
Tyler gets the credit first and foremost. Rhett also obviously with his help in TVDs development. Rhett is doing what he did at SMU. Drastically improving the offensive performance of a football program.
However, I don't think you let TVDs emergence and results factor into the equation when examining whether or not Manny stays or goes.
Having the overall talent level of a mid-ACC tier squad with a defense in steady decline the past 3 years is where you should zoom in the focus on the microscope on Manny.
I give Manny a ton of credit for busting his ass. Also keeping the team competing after going to 2-4 and even rebounding from an FSU loss and beating Va Tech. But it seems he is learning on the job at the end of the day. This would have been the perfect thing to do at Temple the past 3 years. No disrespect intended. He earned his shot to go there and be a head coach. But he was a panic hire by Blake and I think 90% of die hard Canes fans have seen enough.
Manny is doing what he did at Texas as D.C. Making the defense at a major college football program get worse. The recruiting, coaching, and development have not been good enough.
Let's get a proven head coach and proven recruiter of South Florida. There is more than one out there.
