Shawnee State University in Portsmouth, Ohio will pay Professor Nick Merriweather nearly $500,000 plus legal fees & court costs when they punished the 25 year Professor who "refused to refer to a male student as a female." Last year the 6th Circuit Federal appeals court ruled that that Shawnee State violated the Professors First Amendment Rights by ordering him to use the students "preferred prounouns."
It seems the Professor was UNAWARE of the students wishes and referred to him as "SIR" during class. After class the MALE student went to the Professor and requested he refer to him as "a woman and to use female pronouns when addressing him." The Professor a devout Christian explained he was unaware and could not comply however he would be happy to refer to him by his birth name. The student was unhappy and reported the Professor and the WOKE University took disciplinary action against the tenured Professor.
$500,000.00 later the University has learned a harsh lesson................
