Been going to games since 68. Dad used to take me and I used to cry as a kid because my friends all had tix to Dolphins and they were the shyt in 70,71,72, etc.....We were always a 7-4 - 6-5 College team. A nobody really in the landscape of College Football. Had some great ones come thru Ted Hendricks, Chuck Foreman etc... Now the truth from my eyes. College Football is not what it was when Miami exploded. Those antics won't work. The wild west is over. Practice times regulated. Roster scholarships reduced and regulated. On field aggressiveness removed. This means teams must be SMARTER and MORE disciplined then ever before. This does not mean to imply that we can't be a hard nosed hard hitting team. See Alabama, see Clemson. Recruiting must be spot on. Coaching and teaching must be spot on. No area of the team can be weak. Our team is weak. Weak Coaching from the top down. Weak schemes. Poor game awareness from Coach to team. It starts at the top. South Florida kids need tough nosed hard azz Coach. They need schemes that play to our strengths which is speed and athleticism. They need S&C program that pushes them beyond what they think their limits are. We are near bottom on Offense, Special teams, Opponents starting field position and have been for 3 years under this staff. Numbers are not emotion they tell the story in black and white. Just like Real Estate. The comps don't lie. Offensive scheme sucks. Special teams coaching sucks. O-line Coaching sucks (see scheme they are linked) Defensively we think we are all that but we really are not very disciplined there either. Our D-line looked tired last night and got very little pressure on that QB. I remember when Erickson became our Head Coach and his specialty was a novel 1 back Offense. He was the master at that Offense. At first we thought he was crazy but eventually with our superior speed it worked very well. This SCHEME sucks and is the same as many other teams in College today. It is NOT INNOVATIVE! We have never been he same as everyone else here at Miami. On 4th and 2 throw deep. Fair catching punts on the 5. Putting in the backup on our own 7 in pouring rain. Dumb, dumb, dumb.
