Nat'l average gasoline now..............

$4.97 per gallon for regular unleaded.
Wait I thought we released our Strategic Reserves ?
Americans are still paying much less than many industrialized nations to fill up. Drivers in some European cities like Amsterdam and Oslo are paying nearly three times more than those in the U.S. The pandemic caused the global production of oil to decrease as demand cratered. Following removal of pandemic restrictions, supply has not caught up with demand. There is no plausible connection between Biden becoming president and the increasing gasoline prices.

This is the truth, but it doesn't fit the Fox News narrative.

Gas prices started going up the day after the election, because Biden campaigned on destroying the fossil fuel industry. Oil companies were intimidated from starting new projects , because they knew They would be shut down by regulations and inability to get financing. Has nothing to do with Amsterdam and Oslo.

The American president does not control the price of oil and gas. Gas prices are determined by the price of oil on the global market. Any attempt to pin the price increase of gas solely on Biden is not only incorrect but ignores the complexities of the oil and gas sector.

Oil companies are intimidated by starting new projects by what happened to them in early 2020. They never recovered their production levels from before the pandemic. The demand went up and then Oil companies are enjoying record profits.

This has nothing to do with president biden. He cannot control oil prices. Or baby formula. we live in a capitalistic society. If the government can control the prices of things instead of the free market we would then live in a authoritarian/communistic state…

Don't care. Meaningless statement to American citizens.

Oil trades on open markets.
Markets move on supply / demand / and PSYCHOLOGY
So when a MAJOR PRODUCER has a leader who goes to war on the industry in his very first few days, the psychology changed BIG TIME!
Now we are past psychology and into reduced supplies because he either halted projects or made it so that the oil companies are no longer able to finance the risk of drilling new projects.
Where they are drilling he reinstated major hurdles in commencing projects.
For those reasons American Oil was not able to increase output which is so needed right now.

He can control policies. Federal policies and Federal Agencies. In the case of Formula HIS FDA halted production of a major producer and the ADMINISTRATION did not think thru the ramifications of halting the production at that Abbott plant. That's a fact.
DID NOT THINK IT THRU and have a plan for offsetting that reduced formula.
Don't you worry Mommies will remember in November and in 24.

I would say cancelling of the pipeline and lateness of approving oil leases are directly at the Biden's administration poor planning. It doesn't matter anymore, he is cooked along with his V.P. Nov can't come around quick enough to start our countries rebound.

They don't produce oil, WE DO>

Less than one tenth of Keystone was completed and Keystone would have increased global oil production by less than 1%, an almost negligible amount.

I guess you've never been to Europe. I have been going there since the 70s and I was based in London for several years. European gas prices have always been higher than ours and most likely always will
Heavily taxed. Heavy importers.

Gasoline prices are rising across the globe not just in the U.S. Again, it's a supply/demand issue. World oil supply is not keeping pace with surging world oil demand.

Biden did the major damage his first week in office with all his executive orders, the pipe line was just one of them.

So YES, the president can have an effect on gas prices.

That wasn't your point. You said, "Americans are still paying much less than many industrialized nations to fill up". My response is historically accurate. And, do yourself a favor, before you speak about whose fault this is, remember that Biden ran on a platform that was twofold: a war on fossil fuels and the unification of America. He has succeeded on his war on fossil fuels but has been a complete failure on brining America together. By not immediately condemning the assassination attempt on a Supreme Court Justice his inaction actually encourages it. Worst president ever

Appalachian State does that to everybody.

Annual inflation rates for dozens and dozens of goods routinely purchased by American households were already at their highest levels in a decade before Biden took office.

It was a psychological blow to the industry and broke a contract with Canada. It was about a more efficient manner of getting raw crude to refineries.
Don't be dumb Mike.
The world's dirtiest oil is produced by strip mining the Tar Sands of Alberta, Canada. Full development would destroy an area of forest and wetlands the size of Florida, with toxic ponds that pollute rivers fished by First Nations people, requiring pipelines to the Gulf Coast and hauling routes through the Northern Rocky Mountains.

He campaigned on destroying the fossil fuel industry. You think that had nothing to do with the psychology of international oil markets when he won?

countries across the globe are trying to lessen reliance on fossil fuels. The past decade has seen rapid transformations as countries move towards clean energy generation, supply and consumption.

How much destruction is caused by mining the materials required for EV's?

What does that have to do with the price of gas ?

800,000 barrels a day was the prediction
There would have been no certainty that the pipeline could have produced a net increase of 800,000 barrels a day, rather than just transporting oil from Canada that is currently being transported some other way. The pipeline would have required years of construction and likely faced legal challenges, so it wouldn't have solved today's demand needs.

Not a conservative news source just posting it, because it matter of factly describes all the damage Biden did in his first week in office.

People focus solely on the Keystone Pipeline, but he did so much more damage.
