Reported he died in his sleep at home in Houston. Fifty years providing the bottom for ZZ Top. Thanks for the fun times, condolences to family friends and the band.
That must have been a heck of a show. Easy Livin by Uriah Heap was a favorite of mine and Earth Wind and Fire just sounded good. ZZ had to have been on fire back then.First time I saw ZZ August 1973 Fairgrounds in Allentown PA. No beards, flannel shirts, cowboy hats, sheep all around stage it was 95 degrees. They opened up, headliner was Uriah Heep. Second band was suppose to be Rory Gallagher but he canceled and Earth Wind and Fire filled the spot. ZZ came on lit it up, heavy and loud. Started a long love affair with seeing them live. Thanks for all the good times and fond memories Dusty. RIP

Dusty also owns a house here in College Grove that used to belong to Cheryl Crow. Haven’t seen him in a few years. Very sadReported he died in his sleep at home in Houston. Fifty years providing the bottom for ZZ Top. Thanks for the fun times, condolences to family friends and the band.
