You may be right on the relationships - I know KD/Harden's but didn't know KD and Kyrie were tight. It's going to be one hell of a science experiment imo. I just think "it's all good" until one of those three starts averaging 16 ppg while the other 2 hover around 30 ppg, and one starts feeling slighted by the lack of attention compared to what the others are getting, etc. That's going to test things imo.

You don’t need to be great on D to win a championship. Shaq was never on the best defensive teams and still won 4. I am eating crow as I didn’t think this would work and would have rather kept young kids. But Harden has left his ego at the door and is playing great as a facilitator. This is going to be fun and Harden is getting in shape which is getting scary. Shamet keeps coming on and the bench can provide a lift they will be scary. Those 3 are taking Harris to another level. He could always shoot but they make it easier in him.

As a nets fan I’m pumped but I hated the trade when it happened because I didn’t think the three could coexist. Loving it so far.

Great individual players. Maybe 3 of the top 5 ISO players in the NBA but the problem is this team doesn't have the depth the Lakers have on offense and defense. This team doesn't have the size of the Lakers when healthy. These things matter. Great offensive team don't get me wrong.....I just think the Lakers are built for championships. There is nothing that is missing on that team when healthy. Now, I emphasize when healthy.

Kyrie is a head case but when he wants to play he is elite. No question. I am not and have never been impressed with Hardin in big games but Durant to me is still the hardest players to stop in the NBA offensively when healthy. LeBron is still the best player overall in the league.

Nets are winning it all. I’m convinced. Great offense is extremely hard to beat 4 out of 7 times.

Watch out for Utah. If they stay healthy they'll have a shot. Good offense and good defense. I put $100 before the season started at 16 to 1 for them to win it all, so I admit my opinion may be biased.

Huh? A playoff God? He has 2 Championships because he had to go to a team that was championship / all time level of good. He is a great player but lets not go crazy.

Agree....these cats do NOT know what playoff basketball in the NBA is. That's a different animal. Every possession starts to matter. You are exposed if you don't defend and when those dudes have to bring the ball up against Dennis Schroder. He didn't play. That matters. The lakers are deep and I think these guys know how to win so get in a seven game series it is just a different animal.

The past? The Lakers are the defending champs bro. The don't play in the east. Best defense in the NBA. Everyone is not healthy. Slow down. Seven game series and all healthy? I'll take the Lakers.

Yes you do need to be great on defense and rebounding. Shaq was excellent in the paint defensively. Not sure how you have determined otherwise. The dude was unmovable down there. Every Laker championship team has been excellent defensively.

just stop it. Shaq himself said they weren’t great on Defense on TNT in 2001, when talking about the Nets during one of their. In 2001 they were 21st in defensive rating. If you call that great then your standards are low. Next time do some research so your comment doesn’t look bad when you say EVERY Laker championship was excellent defensively. 2000 had a very good defense 6th in the league.

No...you stop....I don't really agree. The Lakers were great on defense and that's why they have the championships they have. They were good in all phases....not just one. Kobe was a great defender and so was everyone else. These players that are all offense don't win championships at this same level. The NBA playoffs is a different beast. You don't win playoff games without playing defense and rebounding. Everyone knows this.

they have been playing better D which is all they need. Durant is a pretty good defender and he is back.

I guess the nets will become the best defensive team in the Playoffs because they are definitely winning the chip.

Keep your eyes on their PPG in the playoffs (once it starts) compared to everyone else.

Make or miss league. Nobody plays traditional defense in the NBA. All the experts agree.

Lol. You put way too much in flakey often injured Kyrie, KD who cares too much what people say about him on Twitter and Harden who is a reg season warrior but nothing in the playoffs. He hasn’t been to a final in almost ten years when he lost to the great Miami Heat.

So true about Harden. That's why I never really felt Harden or Westbrook. Great reg season guys. Great stat sheet dudes. Too much to prove still in the playoffs. Love Kyrie...but he can be a head case...and not a great defender. KD is a great player. I still didn't think he had enough around him leadership wise.

The thing many aren't factoring is friendship. Just like Wade and Bron, KD and Harden are tight. KD and Kyrie are tight. That (chemistry) along with their talent is going to make them crazy hard to beat.

Kyrie is going to fit right in. You will see. Unlike football, in basketball putting the top 10 players on one team makes a HUGE difference and almost usually equals a ring. The main reason being in basketball, the best players control what happens on both sides of the ball and while many don't think this team has a defensive star, offense in basketball is the best defense.

When you hit 3-pointers, after 3-pointers, after 3, you force the other team to play out of their comfort zone to keep up. That makes it a lot easier to defend them when they are doing things out of character (just like the Greek Freak found out last night jacking up 3s).

My man. Haven't been following them that closely this season, but you were the first guy I thought about when I read about the trade. Thoughts?

I'm obviously on record saying I didn't think this would work out in the end, but I honestly didn't expect it would be over this fast. Harden wanting out so bad, 1 year later? WTF happened?

Covid happened. No one saw that. Irvin and how he handled Covid plus KDs injury is what happened.

Crazy thing is vegas and the analyst think if KD comes back healthy they are the top 2 team in the east behind the bucks.

Philly gave them an unbelievable trade.
