Final Update:
No Magic this time...
We went 5 full innings without a run...we finally broke through on a SAC fly in the top of the 6th to take a 1-0 lead...but it didn't last long...
*Think back to the first inning when we loaded the bases with only 1 out and we couldn't plate a run...
*Then in the 7th after we took a 1-0 lead in the 6th...Ole Miss gets 3 straight hits with 2 outs and take a 2-1 lead on a clutch 2-run double by the only batter who got to 2B...Elko, a FL native...and he did it twice...and that's how the game ended...
Just a tough, tough, loss...Rebels rally for the 2nd straight game to win...to go 2-0 while we drop to 1-1...
The Canes are back at it about 7:45 pm to face Arizona in an elimination game...
I CANNOT COVER BACK-TO-BACK GAMES...BUT I WILL SET UP A GAME THREAD...SO I HOPE SOMEONE CAN PROVIDE SCORING UPDATES...
Final Line Score:
It was a heck of a pitcher's duel...both teams struck out 14x...only 9 hits and 3 runs vs aluminum bats...crazy, especially with so many other games where teams are scoring 20+ runs...BTW, Okie State scored 29 of them today!!!
No need to give a bunch of stats...I will defer to our stats page so if U want to check them out, go here.
If we lose tonight...our season will be over for all of us and with tomorrow being a work day...unless we play after 5 pm...this will have been my last game for U this season...we'll see how things shake out...if we do win and play tomorrow...early I assume...I will create a thread for that game too...
Thanks for being a part of this thread, Caniacs
It's always great to be...no matter what...
Go Canes!

Hello, Caniacs....
BIG game today...winner goes to 2-0 and is in the driver's seat to advance to the super round.
No. 3 seed Ole Miss comes in after a dramatic come-from-behind 7-4 win over No. 2 seed Arizona last night. The Rebels have a chip on their shoulder bc of all the negative press their team received questioning their being good enough to be in this tournament (mainly, vs NCST).
IDK how many appearances their starter has made, but with a 3-3 record (vs Carson's 9-4) I assume not as many as Carson. Their starter's stats (below) would indicate that being the case. Note, he's given up only 4 HRs to Carson's 14.
My apologies for not providing the usual team vs team stats to indicate their top players etc. but I ran out of prep time. But taking a look at the batting orders, Ole Miss has only 2 batters hitting over .300 while we have 5. But keep an eye on their 7th batter in the lineup: Peyton Chatagnier. He had a game last night vs AZ like Yoyo had vs Canisius as he too drove in 5 RBIs last night with a game-tying 2-run HR and later, a bases clearing 3-run double, to lead his team to the 7-4 W.

It's still looking like we'll have a start time around 3:30 pm.
U know, we had some posters on this board, pre-regional, who thought Miami should breeze its way through to the super. They don't know the college game or what they are talking about, or both. Don't kid yourself, this is going to be a tough matchup. For those who looked down on Canisius, AZ had to battle them to win 7-5 earlier today. Once your team gets to this post-season....all bets are off. Nothing comes easy.
I hope U can join in on this game thread. I'll be back with the top half of the first-inning.
