When the team 40 times were released, it looked pretty dim...when you compare it to past Cane teams, it looks really scary. A couple of comments and questions for the football gurus:

1. It makes absolutely 0 sense to compare to previous Cane teams...the 2015 Canes aren't going to play against the 2001 Canes....a more relevant question is how do we stack up against ACC teams and opponents like Nebraska, GT, UVA, Duke. Etc. are those teams faster than us?

2. Everyone assumes that we are slower than Florida St. I re-watched the Florida St. Game from last year (admittedly only the 1st 3 quarters) and saw a pretty evenly matched game in terms of speed. They had their flashes (Dalvin Cook breaking away) and we had ours (Clive Walford out-running their defense for a TD).

Question: Are we empirically (vs. emotionally) slower than Florida St. This year? Where is their advantage from a position perspective? Where is our advantage?

3. The one situation from last season where team speed was clearly an advantage was when Oregon trucked the Noles in the playoff. In that game, Florida St. ( again, everyone seems to presume that they have elite team speed) looked like they were two steps behind Oregon on every play. Question: Was Oregon that much faster? The Noles that much slower? Or, did the Oregon scheme make them seem faster?
