For me, the biggest danger from Trump’s hospitalization is its effect on the campaign’s final 4 week stretch run. Ex.

* Trump’s triumph depends on persuading people on his core message of resurrecting the economy (I’m the guy, not Joe) and law & order (Joe will let criminals into the suburbs).

* His handling of the pandemic is his lowest rated area. Yet, his hospitalization has put Covid 19 at the center of the news cycle once again. No talk of the economy. No mention of the suburbs. This focus of Covid will continue until Trump emerges from the hospital healthy and raring to go. Will that happen? If so, when?

* The campaign staff is in disarray. The new campaign head is in quarantine after attending the garden event for the Supreme Court nominee. Can he lead from home?

* The former campaign head (Brad Parscale) was arrested in Florida this week. His wife called police reporting that he was physically abusing her and threatening to kill himself. Dramatic TV footage shows the shirtless and agitated Parscale outside of his home. He ultimately was tackled by the police, subdued and handcuffed. Yikes.

* Reports this morning say that Trump is furious with Chief of Staff Mark Meadows for telling reporters that Trump’s health is much more precarious than previously reported by the White House and its doctors.

Where does the campaign go from here? 3 million votes have already been cast. The VP debate is on Wednesday and is undoubtedly more important now that Trump is ill.

If you were leading the Trump campaign, what would you do now?

Thanks.

Didn’t know your where an insider to Trumps campaign...

I’m not, El. What’s your plan for the campaign?

As a Trump opponent, I most fear in the short term that Pence will make Harris look bad on Wednesday. Kamala is a good debater and experienced lawyer who can stand toe to toe with anyone. But, she can be overly aggressive, sharp and condescending.

I think she should be very generous in her wishing for Trump’s full medical recovery. She should then speak calmly of a “time for change”. The country is exhausted from the pandemic, the economic recession, high unemployment and social/racial tensions. The Trump administration has demonstrated that it cannot handle these crises. Covid-denial did not work. Opening up too quickly did not work. Inflaming racial tensions with right wing rhetoric (Proud Boys) did not work.

Time for a change.

How are Proud Boys inflaming racial tensions ? The press are by labeling them racist. Anything right wing is racist. Take a look at group’s diversity. Chairman is a man of color.

There's nothing the Trump campaign can do at this point. Trump has COVID and needs to focus on recovering in the hospital. The VP debate looks like it will happen, but frankly no one cares about it from a voting perspective (although they do want their VP candidate to do well). Early voting is already under way in record numbers so I can't see anyone changing their minds, and I certainly can't see anyone who was previously on the fence, suddenly voting Trump after the debate and with his own life hanging in the balance.

He's hospitalized with a deadly disease that has killed hundreds of thousands of people; has been put on oxygen, and all kinds of experimental treatments. I'd say that qualifies as "his life is hanging in the balance".

Your as dumb a rocks man. He’s 74 working 8-10 hours while at Walter Reed Med Center. He’s not on oxygen more fake news. He will be headed back to White House tomorrow. But thanks for exposing how ignorant you fools are.

Just quoting the first line in Wikipedia, El:

“The Proud Boys are a far-right, new-fascist and male only organization affiliated with white supremacists that promotes and engages in political violence.”

He was given drugs under the FDA's compassionate rules guidelines, which is reserved for people with severe illnesses.

I never knew that wiki was a Left Wing rag. Who knew?

Seriously, your plan for Trump’s campaign over the next 30 days seems completely based on faith and prayer. That is not a plan. Belief is not a plan. Hope is not a plan.

i fear that your perspective from the Right Wing bleachers is obscuring your view of home plate. You’ve got to score over the next 30 days as the votes are coming in now. Get a view closer to the infield where most of the voters are.

Remember cortez, hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies.

FYi, I just learned that the chief WH physician, Dr. Sean Conley, is an Osteopath rather than an MD. I really don’t know what an Osteopath is. But WTF, shouldn’t the President have the very top Docs in the world looking after him?

Just so bizarre. It’s similar to the appointment of Dr. Scott Atlas as a top advisor to the Covid-19 task force. Atlas is a radiologist with no background, training or history with infectious diseases. Who’s in charge here?
