This is such a sad time in our lives that is so widely acceptable to so called Americans! It's just unacceptable and you are welcome to use your.....

I agree with most of what you posted. In particular, you can't legislate a cure for the susceptible youths in a lot of areas. However, and I know this is where we disagree, but can we look at how to reduce access to mass killing weapons?
How about this CEMS; How about before we look to do the IMPOSSIBLE like getting guns out of the hands of AMERICANS WE LEARN TO LOCK A FREAKING DOOR at our schools?
How would that be?

I you are referring to my comments about that loser Beto, I was expressing my disgust with politicizing these tragic events.
Your comments were totally justified. Beto O'Rourke is a disgusting low life, politically grandstanding in front of public safety officials trying to explain an inexplicable tragedy with family members on the stage. The Mayor of the town called him "a sick son of a bitch"and GTFOH. It was a gross insult to the victims and their families. Hard to believe anybody could be that classless.

I thought we were having a sensible conversation and then that? Smh

I'm not here to play with you. Get serious about protecting children in America. Stop playing.
I posted the following earlier and no one has commented so I will try again. What's the missing piece?

Someone in this thread mentioned Israel and I don't quite understand why there haven't been domestic terror attacks there. Without doing research, I know that every adult is required to serve in some form of the military for a couple of years and all are required to keep their weapons when they return to civilian life. With such a hjgh percentage of citizens having weapons there have to be reasons for no mass shootings. Does anyone out there have any input on this?

So you post:
H.R. 8 is a pretty good bill just to start but there are others. Plenty so....

I simply asked you about the "others" that you mentioned above, and you can't cite anything. Classic CD...

@central17 mentioned Israel. It's a great question.

No not at all. Just saying that is a reason why good legislation is so rare. The Pelosi types want to hold hostage a pound of good with a ton of crap.
Are you saying that the Pelosi way is in the best interest of the country?
This is a horrible excuse. Why? Because did you know that this is not even in the house. HR 8 is in the senate.

Because Israel focuses on the end goal to stop terror attacks. In the US, the bills labeled to do so are instead filled with CRT, Transgender training, illegal immigrant giveaways, studies of how terror affects carbon footprints and other progressive wish list garbage.

No the United States House of Representatives led by Republicans passed the Bill i quoted. All House Representatives voted AYE. Here it is in action where the Dept of Justice awarded Texas 125mm in 2021.

That's just 1 State as an example.

This is Senator Orin Hatch sponsoring the Senates version of the House Bill

ALL REPUBLICAN SPONSORS!
None of these legislations, Dem or Republican, have stop these massacres.

Lets not lay this at the feet of Dems. Both parties bring home the bacon. Stop your foolishness.

I could be wrong but doesn't Israel have a very visible presence of their military all over the country?

Yes, every one of their citizens served in the military. Could you imagine our younger, entitled generation actually having to give back to our country?

Nearly every one of these perpetrators had red flags and warning signs all over them yet nothing was done before the carnage happened. Not sure of the details of what they're doing but Utah has intervened and stopped about 4 or 5 of these incidents in the last few years.
This little nugget might make you take a different look at Texas Governor Abbott.

We once had something called a draft. Is that what you're advocating?
Not exactly. Service to your country could include things such as working a volunteer hotline, working with the elderly or disadvantaged, or basically anything that helps out America.

I have found you to be a bright person. I know you can do better than that. Unless I missed your point, volunteerism is not the solution to stop gun massacres.

Maybe not right away but maybe some of those young folks would get mote pride in their country if they had some skin in the game and felt like they were making a difference. Beats what has been tried so far.

Gov. Abbott is a total fraud. He received millions when a fallen tree broke his back and now the policies he advocates and helped secure into Texas law make it impossible for innocent victims to be fairly compensated for their serious injuries.

Unfortunately our law makers who are complacent are in too deep with gun lobbyists and the NRA. Not once have we heard the NRA announce they will make donations to the families of the victims. SMDH

Guns should be regulated the same way Cars are
Title and tag at each point of sale
Gun training
Written test
Practical test
Health requirements, including mental health
Liability insurance on each gun
Renewals and inspections at intervals

Sadly true. It's just sad bro and infuriating. No legislation will either. Common sense measures must be taken.
Federal standards for school safety protocols would be a great start.
ALL schools MUST comply.

Yes everywhere. Young kids 18-20 years old go out with a military gun on their shoulders. No bullets though.

CEMS nearly every state cuts and fails to fund mental health adequatly. It's a fact.

Have agreed with that statement. Republicans have not provided a complete and coherent plan.
But tune in the TV. Biden, Harris, Shumer, Pelosi, AOC, little 🤡 Beto, Nesome been running their mouths and have said nothing about anything but banning guns to law abiding citizens. The disgusting troll Randi Weingarten has said that police in schools is not the answer. But she is fine with teachers bringing their dildo's for show and tell.

That's not the point. The guns are in every home so why isn't there an occasional nut shooting up a school or supermarket. Whatever the answer, the US should take a close look at what Israel is doing.

Come on man, dildo's? Lets stay serious. I don't know anybody who is for an all out ban on guns. I'm not.

I'm all for more school safety but there is more we can do. Your desire to leave guns out of this discussion is obvious. Take for example our efforts to reduce car crash deaths. We have instituted car manufacturer safety improvements that have saved many lives. Mandatory seat belt wearing has been huge in preventing needless deaths. All of these safety measures were mostly due to federal legislation. My point is, one solution will not fix this problem and we must discuss how to limit access to those folks who would do us harm.
