Kicking out diplomats is just a symbolic way appearing to take action while actually accomplishing nothing. Each side knows which of the other's intelligence operatives they would like to have kicked out of the country and this is one of those things that gives them an excuse to take action. It does nothing whatsoever to hurt Putin. If we are serious about that then we are going to remove Russia from SWFT banking and work with NATO and the EU to start importing gas into Europe from sources other than Russia. That will actually squeeze Putin and the Oligarchs who are the foundation of his power by putting both under extreme financial pressure.

Newsflash though. I have notices several right wingers bring this up. We can have more than one enemy at a time....and at the time they weren't our number 1. Having said that, are you more concerned about Barack Obama being wrong and Mitt Romney being right or placating to our enemy? Just out of curiosity because frankly it doesn't really make a hill of beans difference even if Obama was wrong here. We have since proven Russia to interfere with our electoral process.
