TVD had an amazing rapport with Rhett Lashlee. I’m going to miss Rhett at Miami as much I am going to enjoy him at SMU.
TVD is truly a special talent. He has the size. 6’4” 222 lbs. He has a huge arm but consistently demonstrated great touch on passes downfield and on shorter routes. He isn’t Lamar Jackson, but he is more than capable of using his legs to run for positive yards and showed he had the awareness to use that running ability at key times.
And maturity. He’s only a freshman, but he’s mature for his age. We don’t have shitardery we saw with Robert Marve in Coconut Grove, Jacory mocking Tressel wearing a sweater vest, Kosi’s porn videos, and Jarren’s weed and insecurities. QB is the most important position in sports, and it’s f**king hard as hell. You need a grown up in the room, even at 18-19-20 years old.
And Tyler is all of these things.
And he has a great ceiling to get even better.
He will need the right OC. Someone like Rhett. Young and dynamic with good QB experience like Rhett had with Cam Newton at Auburn and Shane Beuchele at SMU.
TVD alone is a HUGE draw for any potential HC.
