Why we have "turned a corner"......
Were two years past NCAA mess.....
Recruiting has been OFF THE CHARTS so far this year.....attributed to the "cloud" being gone obviously....
We have had Al's game plan in place for 5 years now......players and staff "KNOW THE DRILL".....the fact it has been in place for quite some time leaves me to believe that IT WILL PAY DIVIDENDS AT SOME POINT - simple consistency
We have an All ACC QB in Brad Kaaya WHO HAS A SOLID year of experience behind him.....the most important position on team.
I witnessed a defense during the spring game that was all over the football the first half and ballin out......
15th ranked defense last year in a college landscape where the game IS MUCH FASTER and up tempo.....I don't see us being any worse then last year.
A new president......a fresh new summer breeze right in time for football season.....I believe he will let Blake do his job and not micro manage the situation. If Al does not produce better results.....HE WILL BE GONE.....
Were a healthy team right now......
Upgrades to the campus and football facilities is in place for the most part.....indoor practice facility still in works......
The hiring of our new d-line coach and the addition of Beard to WR'S is "fresh" and "new" and will have a positive effect on the players at those positions.....Darrow and asset as well.
The influx of fresh faces coming into the fall is GOING to reveal at least 1 or 2 players who will contribute immediately.....
Year three with Coley as our OC...in my opinion....is going to be fun AND SPECIAL to watch.....
The fact that Golden took a trip to Dallas with a few coaches tells me he cares about getting better.....and he will.....
We have all heard rumors that the defense this year will be given the chance to play faster and more aggressive.....hence the spring game.....
So.....in conclusion.....you can sit here for the next 4 months being miserable.....dwelling on the negative.....when in my opinion THERE ARE THE SAME AMOUNT OF THINGS TO BE POSITIVE ABOUT....
Are we winning a National Championship this year.....no.....do we have the OPPORTUNITY to compete and be better this year....FOR SURE.
Either way it will be FUN AND EXCITING this year......
It will be fun and exciting to watch this team SHINE and excel.....OR....watch the incoming and new hire as our football coach.....
EITHER WAY....IT WILL BE FUN.....
