Some Staff Responsibility Changes

Hearing that Lance Guidry has pretty much completely taken over the safeties from the defensive back room. Addae has strictly been with the corners. As a guy who has recently been a defensive coordinator and the defensive backs coach on a National Championship quad, I wonder if he will be alright with that development going into 2024, as he does have an expiring contract that is up for renewal.

A development to watch for sure

Depth Chart Talk

So much to be decided on who starts game one but this is always a fun discussion.

What are your thoughts on the projected depth chart?

The Fight for Zaquan Patterson

Miami wants Patterson to be the first commit in the 2024 class but it likely does not happen soon. Michigan, FSU, Georgia and Ohio State are who I am hearing as the other teams in the race for him. Visits to Michigan and Ohio State are going to be huge in seeing where this recruitment goes. I do love where Miami is at right now in his recruitment. The realtionship with 2025 Michigan CB commit CJ Ewald is a factor in Michigan being a contender and Ohio State has recruited Chaminade-Madonna really well. FSU is #2 to Miami right now for me and a legitimate threat to his services.

Miami Offered Local CB Trending to...

Hearing Dillard 2024 CB Xavier Lucas is a potential silent commit to FSU after a recent visit to Tallahassee. His DB coach has a close relationship to FSU DB coach Pat Surtain Sr. and Florida State has made South Florida high ceiling prospects like Lucas a priority. Miami has been pushing for the highly touted CB as well and it is still early, but I have put a forecast in for the Noles to win out here.

Chalk up another successful visit for the University of Miami. The Hurricanes’ staff welcomed four-star 2025 Homestead receiver Cortez Mills to campus on Tuesday, March 7.

“The Miami visit went great,” Mills said. “I really enjoyed it because they treated me like family and showed a lot of love.”
