Just watched the replay of the first defensive series by the U yesterday. Ivey and Flagg were the 2 players who were directly responsible for every big play. During the first defensive series Ivey almost did a "Gurvan Hall" by attacking a receiver attempting to block him instead of running toward the receiver who was coming across the field after catching a pass. I encourage everyone to check it out. Missing a point blank tackle on a pass reception and then blocking the path of another Miami player resulted in 2 more big plays. Flagg failed to pick up a receiver crossing into his zone allowing him to run free for a reception. Then on a blitz call he was to slow to get to the quarterback and failed to rush with his hands up to knock down the dump off pass and did not jump when the QB threw the ball. Really Flagg and Ivey looked as bad as they did last year. If they are starting pass next week or after we are in for a long season. Our opponents like yesterday's opponent will game plan to attack Ivey and Flagg. I hope our coaches see it

Every year some teams get in bowl games that don't make it to 6 wins are there any talks that miami could get one I heard Georgia tech might be getting one hopefully our canes do for the extra practices

Clemson was upset by South Carolina today. Clemson's home-winning streak ends at 40. Miami's home winning streak still well intact at 58. The one downside is Clemson is out of the college football playoff and the ACC will not have a representative for the second year in a row. Miami still kings of the home-winning streak.

It seems Thad and Rooster both have clashed with Smith this season. Hearing he came in with the focus being Parrish. Overall, Parrish has been a stud but could those two guys have been used better and acclimated to the offense as solid options outside of Parrish? I wonder if that will effect recruiting at Chaminade as former Deerfield Beach HC Javon Glenn and the current Chaminade staff coached both players.

Miami is the favorite right now for four-star CB Damari Brown unless Alabama really pushes to get back in the race, my only worry there. Don't see any other school being a factor and that includes Florida State. I think the recruitment of IMG CB Desmond Ricks and Texas commit CB Malik Muhammed will be a big factor on if Alabama goes after Brown or not. If they miss out on both, watch out.

Recent OSU decommit RB Mark Fletcher is a Miami lean. Other sites can expand on how he made the decision to decommit after a visit from the UF RB coach and a visit to Gainseville but he was also at Miami before that and has been a frequent visitor. NIL-wise, Miami is unmatched at the moment. Could Florida change that? Absolutely. We have seen it happen with Rashada and Andy Jean. Dad is a die hard Miami fan. That is going to be a factor in his recruitment, being able to be around his son. A PWO opportunity to his center Joey Colosi is also something that Florida is putting out there. I wonder if Miami matches that. Feel really confident about both to Miami right now.

Brandon Inniss looks like a lock to OSU despite his teammates movement toward Miami. If more SFE dominoes fall and decommit from OSU, that could change things. Also, if Miami boosters are able to meet some NIL figures, I think Miami has a chance as well.

Saw a post game interview and he seems very poised.

These last two games, whether it is Pitt and Clemson, or Pitt and the bowl game, I believe will be telling as to who will be retained on this Miami coaching staff for next year. Pitt has a strong running game, and against strong running teams (Duke, Florida State) Miami didn't fair too well giving up 40+.

I think, sadly, that this game is the super bowl of the season. A win and the season doesn't feel as bad as it did earlier in the season. A loss, doom and gloom to the 100th degree. Manny Diaz, Mark Richt, and Al Golden were bowl eligible in every season. The last time Miami was not bowl eligible 2007 when Randy Shannon was head coach in his first year. Shannon went on to lose three straight bowl games after that season.

Do you think Miami beats Pitt?

Hearing that Clark is Louisville and Auburn, much like teammate Rueben Bain. Louisville is going to make their mark NIL wise more than any other team. Mom loves the atmosphere at both schools. Was back up at Louisville this weekend as they dismantled NC State. Louisville is back in bowl eligibility and staff is safe going into next season. They are the strong leader in his recruitment right now. Auburn I would put ahead of Miami right now because of the Miami Central connection. QB Keyone Jenkins has a strong relationship with Clark, as well as potential flip WR Lamar Seymore and Bain. Both schools have made the Rockets a focus in recruiting and it looks like it may be paying off.

Columbus coaches have raved about this kid for the last two years. Undersized but one of the better linebackers regardless of class in South Florida. Strong lineage connection Miami with the Columbus pipeline and relatives that played at Miami. If he grows even just a couple inches, could be a major prospect in 2025.

Things haven't been ideal for Jim Larrañaga, as shaky first halves have Miami battling to edge past Lafayette and UNC Greensboro.

Miami had the core of Miami Central visiting campus today. With Rueben Bain and Stanquan Clark was 2025 RB Nicholas McCall. The sophomore running back is the nephew of former Central standout and NFL star Dalvin Cook. He has no offers yet but had a huge performance in the second round against rival Northwestern, rushing for 133 yards and two touchdowns. He is already 5'11" 180-pounds and has the potential to be special according to Central coaches.

One of the more explosive running backs in the country. Super productive. Looks like Miami is going to be on him and American Heritage's Byron Louis heavy for the 2025 class.

There has been much speculation about Sophomore Wide Receiver Romello Brinson heading to the portal. Some have gone as far as asking Melo directly via social media. Brinson has barely done anything this season. There is also speculation about Brinson potentially trying to sabotage the recruiting class. He has six catches for 41 yards this season.

In his two seasons, he's registered 13 catches for 41 yards and that one touchdown against Central Connecticut State.

Last season USC football team's record was 4 wins , 8 losses. Lincoln Riley comes in this season and team is 10 and 1.

Last season Miami's football team was 7-5. Mario Cristobal comes in this season and Miami is 5-6.

Is there a rational reason why? Could it be USC did not play Middle Tennessee State?

Chris Johnson was looking at Ole Miss. I doubt he pushes for Johnson at Auburn with really good 2023 RB Jeremiah Cobb locked in. Don't think Cadillac Williams evaluated Johnson highly as a RB. That could put Miami back in position to land Johnson and still grab Mark Fletcher.

Kiffin coming on I think helps the Rueben Bain situation for Auburn. Big time hire. He recruited him at Ole Miss. The only question is if he keeps pass rush coach Roc Bellantoni. If he gets ousted, I think that might take Auburn out of the race for Bain. Strong relationship there with him. Coached his brother at FAU.

Miami does not seem to be on Edwin Joseph heavy right now but if they strike out on Damari Brown, would not be surprised to see them jump back in the race for Joseph. Joseph took an official to Auburn and they seem to be in the final three with Louisville and Florida State. Have to see what Kiffin does at DC and if he keeps DB coach Zach Ethridge. He does an excellent job recruiting South Florida and seems to be high on Joseph. If Ike Hilliard is kept on as WR coach, they actually evaluated him highly as a WR as well. Might be intriguing for Joseph to potentially play WR in a Kiffin led offense.

Miami remains in a good spot with Johnson as he intends to sign next month. Update on Rivals:

Isn’t it the responsibility of the offensive coordinator to adjust his offensive game plan to fit the talent on hand at the moment. The good ones adjust to showcase what his current players do well and maximize that.

I don’t see Gattis doing this.

Our offense is just dismal.

Swint is already one of the top backs in the nation, Miami put there hat in the ring on trying to land him today.

A couple games ago Mario said "coaches didn't just forget how to coach".

Well I say this...did the players just forget how to play this year?

Miami shouldn't be as bad as it record or stats show. We can't ignore reality.

We can all find excuses as to why, but you are what your record says you are. I don't think winning or losing next week will shape the program for the future but if they lose to Pitt next week the optics will be historically bad, like only one five-win season in the last 50 years bad.

Did Manny Diaz leave this team in such dire straits? because it is hard to believe that the previous staff was on its way to a possible 5 win season. No one saw this season coming, especially the coaching staff, which is the most concerning part of it all.
