The "science" shows it does little to nothing. He wanted the kids to know they didn't HAVE to wear masks if they DIDN"T WANT TO>

Actually the science shows that masking does reduce the transmission of droplet/aerolized pathogens. Just look at the numbers for serious flu infections the past 2 years. Significantly fewer cases in Florida and nation wide. And just in case you argue hard to separate flu from Covid-19’s, there are definitive tests that separate both and the flu test is in almost every primary care or pulmonologist’s office and definitely in every ER/walk-in clinic.

Reduces the total perimeter but the droplets that come out of the mask are finer and stay in the air longer. The studies on Masks were uncontrolled with major cofounding variables. There are no differences in infection rate in countries that mandated masks vs those that didn't. Masks lower O2 saturation which can compromise those with lung or heart disease. They also allow rebreathing of expired bacteria which increases the risk of bronchitis and pneumonia.
Sadly masks became a political tool .The masking of 3 yr olds was absurd and child abuse.
