I swear I have not been drinking yet today but.....I agree with Flea. Listen to those tapes. This chick was absolutely leading him into a conversation that she knew would put him in a very bad light (deservedly so of course). He is a scumbag, but there is more than meets the eye here. LA is obviously a huge market for the NBA and the Lakers are looking to be trending down. The Clippers were the laughingstock of the league forever until the commissioner forced a trade of Chris Paul away from the Lakers and to the Clippers. Things that make you go hmmmm.

! That will drive up the price of the other owner's investment. This is a Win Win for everybody! The " bad precedent argument BS" is nothing but a ploy! The Clippers will be sold by the summer to the Guggenheim Partner's with Magic as the front man! Brilliant! Just Brilliant! I love this Country! The guy said he didn't want black people to go to his games. I know the girl egged him on, but if you listen, it did not seem like a position that he just came up with during the 9+ minutes of the tape. This is not a Jimmy the Greek comment. This is not "playing the race card" or over-sensitivity. This guy owns an NBA basketball team comprised primarily of black people, and he went on a rant about how he doesn't want black people at his games. You can't be serious here.Originally posted by caneluv20:

Not true, white heads have to roll because everyone has to look like they are just the prototypical soothsayer and all about equal opportunity. People want people to like them, be the cool guy. We don't censor rap, we don't sensor anything but what a rich white owner says. Because he is white, he is the "man" the "man" is the devil. All these rich athletes who get paid by the "man" who also make racist comments, want to turn on the "man" because its public. I sit each weekend at football games and hear the parents talk all kinds of racist things. Blacks whites hispanics, it doesn't matter. Everyone should get fined then. It happens everywhere. When doc rivers got his house burned down in texas, Im sure he said "oh those silly white people, they are just funnin with me...hehe" yeah i bet

So far ... all my friends are "liking it".

well unfortunately you both are wrong, al sharpton and his groupies will be pushing an agenda and we will have to hear about all the racist crap in the world and then the people will vote and it will be a force out, then some liberal in the 4th judicial circuit of some town we have never heard of, in a state that doesn't exist, which was voted in as a state last year by dead people who have been dead for 100 years, will uphold that they are well within their rights regardless of how many constitutional laws we have broken...

Magic and his partner's wanted the Clipper's! Magic will be the next owner or front man of the Clipper's. The Guggenheim Money Machine is running this thing. This is a Win Win for everybody! Sterling although he will loose his team...but he will receive about a Billion dollars on a 12mil investment. True Gangsta Shyt

I have to ask.... What if the roles in this issue were reversed. Let say Jordan said these things or even Larry Johnson. I wonder if there would have bee some justification of a "Private Conversation" or that he misspoke or that those were snippets of a longer conversation or insert your mainstream media excuse here______________________.
Just a thought
This is not a freedom of speech issue. The guy voluntarily bought an NBA team and by doing so voluntarily agreed to a certain standard of personal behavior. He violated that standard and now has to deal with the consequences. Whether the media or anyone else is also a racist is irrelevant. If Adam Silver makes these types of comments, he will be replaced. If Charles Barkley says that Hitler wasn't that bad, he will be gone. If Obama says that white people shouldn't be able to go to the Democratic National Convention, he will have issues. You can't excuse behavior because others exhibit that same behavior. That becomes a slippery slope of chaos.Originally posted by caneluv20:
im not disagreeing, I think what he said was wrong and shouldn't have been said. But to string him up about an every day conversation and post him all over the news like the people accusing him are some saints, is what is wrong with America. He should get fined, but at the same time it is his business, it is his free speech and if the players don't want play for him then don't. That is free enterprise, we can take a man's liberties away from him because people are being hippocrites. Then lets take the majority of the top 40's songs and ban them or anyone else who makes degrading remarks in music or movie or comedy

just because you may be like that doesn't mean everyone else is a racist. maybe you make racist statements bc you too are a racist. btw where are all the cases of black people keeping the whites man down dude.Originally posted by caneluv20:
I don't condone racism, but everyone wants to string up the white man for making comments because someone recorded him, which is against the law without his consent. You think Magic, Doc Rivers and the rest of the clowns that are out there arent making racist comments? Lmao wake up guys. We have become an apologist society, its a stigma that only whites are racist making comments, never anyone else. I have nothing against anyone, but this crap has got to stop, Im tired of hearing about racism and its double standard. Call a spade a spade. Not saying he shouldn't get fined for making comments but to be so ignorant to think these other guys calling him out haven't made racist comments in their days is just ignorant...end rant
