Flea is correct, the sleezy girlfriend totally set him up and egged him on, listen to the tape. Magic was in on it and should never have any part of that team.Originally posted by Flea1384:

I have to wonder about this. First of all, hate what he said and think he is a total racist asshole piece of shit. But, that said, doesn't the 1st Amendment give him the right to be a total racist asshole piece of shit as long as he doesn't actually do damage to someone with his actions? I understand his comments hurt some feelings, no doubt, but has he actually refused to serve Blacks by not selling tickets or serving them at the concession stands? I don't know how to resolve this without stomping on the constitution and that is what bothers me.

Well, technically he said he didn't want her bringing black people to his games, not that he didn't want black people at his games in general. Either way, he is a racist POS.Originally posted by KLCane
The guy said he didn't want black people to go to his games. I know the girl egged him on, but if you listen, it did not seem like a position that he just came up with during the 9+ minutes of the tape. This is not a Jimmy the Greek comment. This is not "playing the race card" or over-sensitivity. This guy owns an NBA basketball team comprised primarily of black people, and he went on a rant about how he doesn't want black people at his games. You can't be serious here.
The troubling thing here is that this came up because his friends, etc. were making it a specific point of criticizing or somehow giving him a hard time about his girlfriend bringing black people to the game or her posing with Magic Johnson on her instagram. Who knows who those people were.
Btw, I am white.

I understand what you are saying, but my understanding of the incident is that he was taped, without his knowledge, in private with only his girlfriend present. I'd think a code of conduct would have to be pretty specific and possibly not enforceable if it tries to limit what he can say in the privacy of his own home in a private conversation. Again, I think he is a worthless piece of shit for what he has said, but I do wonder about hammering someone for something they said under those circumstances.Originally posted by KLCane:

It's not a freedom of speech issue. As I said, he voluntarily bought an NBA team and by doing so agreed to a certain code of conduct and it's enforcement thereof.

Cleveland he still has the freedom to be a douchebag. No one took that from him. The NBA exercised its freedom of association or, freedom to not associate with someone. If the NBA does not want him to be a part of its league, then Sterling has no right to be a part of it.

It always interesting to see how white folks will defend white supremacy and racism, not unexpected but interesting nevertheless. Case in point, this Klansman above chooses to focus on the "victimization" of the poor white man who's always getting accused of racism vs the fact that old bast*rd is a racist and deserved exactly what he got. Then he attempts to project the psychosis of racism, a sick drama that was written, produced, and has been starred in by white folks onto black folks by assuming that black folks privately have these same conversations. He attempts to bolster his defense of white supremacy by using one of the common defense mechanisms of asking the unrealistic question of "what if the roles were reversed?"Lol. How about you give an example, Mr. Klansman, oh excuse me Mr. Klanlove, of any incident you can find of a black business owner, celebrity, athlete, etc. having such a conversation about white folks. If we are going to play make believe every time the curtain of racism is pulled back and attempt to redefine its definition or pretend you as a white male have some clue as to how racism effect black folks, then any conversation on the issue is fruitless. We can play the "make believe" game with any subject and turn it into a philosophical debate. Fact of racism, however, is that black people have never historically been racist nor are we racist now. Black racism or reverse racism is pure myth and defense mechanism of white supremacy and racism. Black people do not focus on skin color as a point of feeling we are supreme to anyone else, we've never killed or hung white people based on this psychosis, we've never socially, politically, economically, or educationally oppressed any white people based on it nor do we control the government and resources to effect the lives of white folks via racism. I assure you that black folks or specifically Magic J., as you assume in your make believe scenario, does not have these types of convo with other black celebrities. So Klanlove, as much as you attempt to mask your racist ideology by prefacing you comment with how you how you don't condone racism, the other 90% of your comment defending his right to be racist tells the true story of who you are and how you think Btw, I welcome any examples of the black racism or black racist rants from celebrities you can find, I'd love to see them. While you visiting the land of make believe, why don't you bring back a unicorn and a couple of mermaids, always wanted to see if they really exist too. Lol. Gotta laugh at racist, totally illogical and irrational thinking ..

Since you want examples of black celebrities racist comments, here are 2 quick ones from Spike Lee, who works for the NBA by the way and isn't being banned. "I seriously wanted to pick up a gun and shoot whites. The only way to resolve matters is by bloodshed." "I give interracial couples a look. Daggers. They get uncomfortable when they see me on the street."
The problem with your response is that you disregard the racism black folks have received from both Mexicans and Koreans, and you attempt to use the reaction of Black folks to their racism to prove your point. Black people have allowed Hispanics and every other group into our neighborhoods historically especially Hispanics without any problem. It's always the incoming group who brings that racist sh*t with them. Both groups of people have internalized white supremacy and are racist against black people, a fact! Seen, heard, read about it, experienced it, I live in Az where some of the Mexicans are very racist. I know all about the situation in Cali with Mexicans and Blacks there, Mexicans are actually terrorizing black folks out there and attacking them, and you dare cite that as an example of Black folks being racist? Koreans have also been very racist towards black folks and you dare categorize the reaction to their racism as black racism? Foh with that! Ridiculous at best! Please point out to me how Spike Lee's comment is racist? Break this down to me because I'm interested in understanding this new definition of racism you apparently have.
Fa'sho Jersey, I say fck anybody who thinks like that. It never fails, though, some of these clowns attempt to project this psychosis of everyone when they get busted. They come with the patented "its not just us everybody does it" excuse. I think they believe this somehow makes it ok to racist. It's funny to me that people think that Black folks sit around thinking about how to hurt white folks. We don't really care about any of that stuff.
Give us equal pay and equal opportunities and we'll be straight.
I just laugh at people who makes racist comments, but if you put your hands on me then we going on another level.
I'm not sure but I think people have this need to side with their race instead of looking at every situation on its on merit. If this dude was Black and he told his lady don't publicize being friends with white people...or don't take pictures with white people. I don't associate with any black person that would try to defend that. There is absolutely no need.Originally posted by Azar:

It's funny to me that people think that Black folks sit around thinking about how to hurt white folks. We don't really care about any of that stuff.
Give us equal pay and equal opportunities and we'll be straight.
I just laugh at people who makes racist comments, but if you put your hands on me then we going on another level.
