Government handouts aren't just monthly welfare checks. They consist of the items in this link that go to the rich. I'm not rich by any standard but I sure as hell take advantage of some of these handouts:

This discussion is about our tax dollars and how they're spent. Many of these dollars are spent to enrich the wealthy who are mostly white. Just like Trump's version of Obamacare. More benefits to the well to do.
Tax "breaks" and deductions are much different than hand outs! Writing something off on a purchase much different than automatic money showing up in ones account every month!! That money comes from suckers like us who work and pay taxes! There's a huge difference!! Obamacare was a terrible policy to begin with!! To many false promises and it made care for the people who need it unattainable!! Deductions and premiums alone were to costly!!
Truthfully I haven't had time to digest all of it, I just hear everyone bitching about it! I'll honestly tell you I'm against any Govt handling of health insurance unless for Vets(who should get it free, along with interest free mortgages, tuition, and a monthly food stipend) mentally ill. I just think the people in Govt are so stupid I don't want them near my medical decisions!

Many Americans have the opposite opinion. For some the state is viewed as their adversary and history bears that out. I personally don't trust the state to do the right thing on many fronts especially healthcare. Civil rights is another example of where I do not feel the state can handle evenhandedly. In fact many states have a history of state sponsored discrimination.
